Spring Cleaning Book Tag

Spring has finally sprung here in Northern Ontario, Canada and I am thrilled. Now is the perfect time to do this tag. There are a few versions of the Spring Cleaning Book Tag out there, but I found this one from Zezee with Books and it was originally created by Page to Page.

It’s time to make your bed, but you’re going to have some friends over later and want to pick the perfect book to place on your nightstand for them all to see that you’re “reading.” Which book do you choose?

This question makes me laugh! I am currently rereading Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries, so this is the book that is currently on my nightstand. I would also leave it there for friends to see because it is stunning and I love this book so much that I would want my friends to ask about it and I can force them to read it too.

Oh no! The house needs dusting, but you just can’t put down that book you’re reading! What book would you buy on audio just so you could continue the story while cleaning?

I just did this with Winter’s Orbit! It was not for cleaning reasons but because I was sick and couldn’t focus on a physical book so I downloaded the audiobook instead because I was really into it. I am so glad that I did because I thought the narrator did a great job with this one!

Darn it! The ceiling is leaking! Turns out mass market paperbacks are the best things to soak water up! Which popular book do you use to soak up the water?

I randomly own a boxed set of mass market paperbacks of the A Song of Ice and Fire series. I have DNFed this series and I know even I do decide to continue on with it one day, I would read the mass market paperbacks. They are too awkward to hold! But, I guess the size of them makes them ideal to soak up water from a leaking ceiling! 😂

Bathrooms need a good scrubbing, and your 2007 Cosmos are a little outdated and need replacing. What book do you place in the bathroom for some light reading for when people need to take care of business?

Baking Bad is my ultimate comfort book and I cannot wait to continue on with the series. These are cozy mysteries with dragons and I think are good bathroom reads!

Family is coming over, but you have no idea what to make for dinner! You read somewhere that tearing up the last chapter of a book whose ending you hated and sprinkling it in a casserole dish makes for the perfect meal! Which book do you choose?

I have spoken about this so many times, but the ending of Love and Other Words was problematic, in my opinion, and made me so angry! I don’t think I would feel bad about burning those last few chapters…

Organization is key, right? When it comes time to organize your bookshelf, you realize you have enough room (and money) to get three new books! Which books do you buy?

Yours Truly and Untethered Sky came out this week and are two of my most anticipated releases of the year. I cannot wait to get my hands on them. The Fiancee Farce comes out on Tuesday and I need that cover on my shelves. I do have an ALC, so I am thinking it is going to be my next audiobook.

Finally, some peace and quiet! But before you can relax, you realize you forgot to send your aunt a thank-you gift for the lovely “ADULT LIFE FOR DUMMIES” book she gave you for Christmas (maybe she’s trying to tell you something?). What book do you send to her to show her how much (this is sarcasm) you appreciate her gift?

She might read something into this, but I would send her Maybe You Should Talk to Someone. I actually think that this is a book everyone should read and is the book I find myself recommending the most to people in my real life!

  1. This is a fun (and often funny) tag! I had a hard time thinking up my own answers for several of them, but for the “what books would you use to soak up water” one, I have a couple of books in both paperback and ebook format so I would probably use those paperbacks since I wouldn’t be out the book entirely. I had to laugh at your choice of A Song of Ice and Fire, though. Those books are HUGE. They’d soak up a LOT of water. 😉
