My Favourite Book Titles

This week’s TTT topic was about hilarious book titles, but I struggled with that, so I went with my favourite book titles! It is not often that I am drawn to a book based on the title, but there are exceptions.

I made Love in the Time of Serial Killers one of my five-star predictions based on the title alone! It is just too clever and obviously a twist on Love in the Time of Cholera.

A Witch’s Guide to Fake Dating a Demon is a 2023 release and there isn’t even a cover yet, but I know I am going to read it! The title alone has so many of my buzzwords. A witch who is fake dating a demon? Yes, please!

How to Fall Out of Love Madly is such a great title. There is something so heartbreaking about it! I think it sets the tone for the book.

Suburban Hell definitely could have been included on a list of hilarious book titles! You just know that this book is going to be ridiculous and a fun time.

I love a punny title, especially if it is food related. For Butter or Worse makes me smile every time I see it! I need to read this asap because I know from the title alone that it is my kind of romance.

I love all of the titles in Tirzah Price’s Jane Austen Murder series, starting with Pride and Premeditation. The second book is called Sense and Second-Degree Murder and the third one, which comes out next year, is Manslaughter Park. They are such clever twists on the original titles!

You Made a Fool of Death With Your Beauty is actually a lyric from the song Hunger by Florence + the Machine. That one line says so much and it was perfect for Akwaeke Emezi’s first romance novel!

The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea has a fairytale vibe, which perfectly fits the actual story. I think there is something dreamy about it!

Not the Witch You Wed is another punny title! The second book in the series is called Not Your Ex’s Hexes. I just think they are fun titles!

I love good morally great characters, so, of course, Plain Bad Heroines was intriguing to me!

  1. The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea 😍 Such a fantastic title that took me in as well!

      1. I’ve been hovering on it, but I’ll officially add them to the TBR! Which would you recommend starting with? (P&P is my favourite Austen; the only one I haven’t read yet is Mansfield Park)

  2. This week was so hard! I struggled. I almost changed but didn’t have time. The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea is still one of my top books of the year!!

  3. For Butter or Worse is already on my TBR. Bt I think the witch and demon fake dating is going to be my awaiting 2023 read! The title itself is gold!😂
