Weekly Roundup

I always enjoy reading other bloggers’ weekly updates, so I thought I would start sharing mine as well! I will talk about the books that I read during the week and the BookTube videos that I posted, and I will also share some of my favourite blog posts that I came across throughout the week!

Books Read

Jade City has become an all-time favourite. The world building and family dynamics are incredible! I instantly ordered the sequel, Jade War, and cannot wait to dive into it. I was not expecting to become so attached to these character!

I am going to say it- I think The Final Revival of Opal and Nev is better than Daisy Jones and the Six. It is natural to want to compare the two and both are amazing on audio, but I just think that The Final Revival of Opal and Nev had so much more to say. A must read/listen!

I have found a love for SciFi graphic novels and Descender was an instant favourite! I adored Tim-21 and need to read more from him. These volumes are quite expensive though, so I am going to collect them slowly.

My BookTube Videos

I have really started to appreciate baseball lately, so I thought it would be fun to read a few baseball books and talk about them to celebrate opening day!

March was one of my best reading months in a long time! I found some new all time favourite books!

If you want to watch me fall in love with Jade City and see how I celebrated Easter, check out my latest vlog!

The Book Duchesses looked back on their past book hauls, which is something I always enjoy!

  1. I really can’t wait to listen to The Final Revival of Opal and Nev, I have the audio on hold at my library, and I’m so glad to hear you enjoyed it! I’m a huge Daisy Jones fan and thats what drew me to Opal & Nev in the first place, so I can’t wait to listen to it!

  2. I havent read Jade City yet for no discernable reason tbh, but a rec from you that says it has excellent character has made it high priority! I absolutely LOVE good character building and dynamics in a story, there is simply nothing better.

You are really active on booktube its impressive!

  3. I enjoyed your baseball video. I’m not a baseball fan but the book on the Tigers looks interesting and I always appreciate graphic novels. I will recommend this one to our public library. If you’re interested in a fictional story that revolves around the game of baseball, I recommend The Art of Fielding, by Chad Harbach, and A Prayer for Owen Meany, by John Irving. In both stories, the lives of several characters are forever altered after a stray ball brings disaster.

    1. I am so glad you enjoyed it! I have The Art of Fielding on my list- it seems like such a beloved book!

I had heard of A Prayer for Owen Meany but had no idea what it was about! Sounds interesting. Thank you for putting in on my radar!!
