2024 Book Releases | Fantasy Romance Edition

Like everyone else, I fell in love with fantasy romance in 2023 and I see that trend continuing in 2024. I am drawn to cozy fantasy romance with some spice, so you will find a lot of those on this list, but there is a mix of things!

Release Date: February 6th

I do not think I have ever read a short story collection that was part of a larger series but I am going to make an exception for Tales of the Celestial Kingdom. I know that this series isn’t for everyone but I loved it so I am excited we are getting more from the world. I have always said that Sue Lynn Tan could write so much more in the universe and I am glad we are getting some of that!

Release Date: February 20th

Remedial Magic looks like my kind of fantasy romance! It follows a woman who is not only a librarian who bakes but also discovers she is a witch and it is sapphic!

Release Date: February 27th

I have followed Analeigh Sbrana on Instagram for awhile now and I so thrilled for her that Lore of the Wilds was picked up by a traditional publisher even though that means I have to wait a little longer to get my hands on a copy!

Release Date: February 27th

I have been meaning to read The Bridge Kingdom for ages and I have a feeling I will love that series, but I am equally excited for A Fate Inked in Blood! I love the idea of a shield maiden who has a drop of goddess blood.

Release Date: March 5th

There is something about a romance between academic rivals that just hits different! I always get excited about books set at sea but I am often let down by them. I have this feeling that A Dark and Drowning Tide is going to be the exception. The fact that it is also an isolated murder mystery and a fantasy romance is definitely calling to me. As I am typing this I am more and more tempted to preorder this!

Release Date: April 2nd

I know a lot of us are highly anticipating A Witch’s Guide to Magical Inkeeping after reading and loving The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches. There is something about this follow-up that makes me think I will enjoy it even more! I mean… there is a talking semi-villainous fox- need I say more?

Release Date: April 16th

The cover of Earthflown is striking and there is something about it that really appeals to me! I am a fan of CliFi and I am intrigued by the idea of futuristic medicine! You throw in a romance that leads to a conspiracy and I am sold!

Release Date: April 25th

Fans of Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries take note! A Letter to the Luminous Deep is being hailed as Emily Wilde set underwater. It sounds like we are getting two romances in one and I love a story that includes letters.

Release Date: May 14th

Everything about The Honey Witch screams that it is the perfect fantasy romance for me! Not only does it have one of the most stunning covers ever, it is also a sapphic romance between a witch and a human who doesn’t believe in magic. Fun!

Release Date: May 21st

There are few things I love more than a sentient house but I don’t think I have ever read about one who is actually jealous and wants a characters undivided attention. Looking for Love in All the Haunted Places looks adorable!

Release Date: June 11th

Alexandra Rowland is an author who I have been wanting to read from for quite a while now! Running Close to the Wind just sounds like a romp. This is another book set on the sea that I am hopeful will work for me.

Release Date: June 25th

There are a few Red Tower books that are supposed to be coming out next year but the publishing dates keep changing, so keep that in mind. This is the same publisher as Fourth Wing and the first edition of Bloodguard will also have sprayed edges. Of all of the books on their list, this is the one that appealed to me the most. To be honest, I saw gladiator and was sold!

Release Date: July 2nd

The Undermining of Twila and Frank is a companion novels to The Undertaking of Art and Mercy. I love that this book follows older characters and I am very curious about this liquid glitter. It is also friends to lovers if that is a trope you love!

Release Date: July 9th

The Spellshop was already near the top of my list but now that I have read and loved The Queen of Blood, which is also by Sarah Beth Durst, it is at the very top! I already know I adore her writing and character work but the premise of her 2024 appeals to me even more. Witches and forbidden magic? Yes, please!

Release Date: August 13th

A Werewolf’s Guide to Seducing a Vampire is the third book in the Glimmer Falls series and I had a lot of fun with book one so I am excited to continue on with it. I am all about a romance between a werewolf who owns a plant business and an angry vampire he accidentally buys on eBay.

Release Date: October 3rd

We obviously don’t know much about Best Hex Ever but from what we do know I already think it is going to be the book for me! It is a cozy and spicy fantasy romance and our main character is cursed to hurt anyone who falls for her!
