I haven’t posted a haul since my birthday in June and I told myself I wasn’t going to buy too many books this summer and I think I did a decent job at that. I have a couple books from publishers to share and then a few books that I did buy over the last few months. I would love to know the last book that you acquired- whether through the library or purchased!

Both I’m a Fan and The Judas Blossom were sent to me by publishers and I cannot wait to get to them both! I also have the audiobook version of I’m a Fan thanks to Libro.fm. It follows a woman who is having an affair with a married man and becomes obsessed with another one of his lovers. Sounds intense but I am certainly intrigued! I was so thrilled when the publisher reached out and asked me if I wanted a copy of The Judas Blossom because it is a book that I have seen around and loved the sound of. I have been trying to find what I love in fantasy and historical fiction is definitely one of my favourite subgenres. This book is set in 1260s Persia, so definitely historical fiction and unlike anything else I have read.

I got Kaikeyi from my favourite independent bookstore and I was so happy to find it there. It has been recommended to me multiple times and it does really sound like something I will love. I have been wanting to read more mythology retellings that are not Greek or Norse and this one is at the top of my list!
My friend Maria sent me a copy of Empire of Sand for my birthday and it was so sweet of her. This is a book she loved and she knows I adore both Tasha Suri and desert fantasy, so I have no doubt this will be a hit for me. I need to read the sequel to The Jasmine Throne before I can justify starting a new series from her, but it is definitely calling to me!
Initially, I was drawn to the cover of The Surviving Sky but it also does sound like something I will adore. I think I plan to read it in November but I am not sure I can wait that long!
I am a simple person- I see an Alexis Hall book and I buy it! I love that he is trying fantasy romance with Mortal Follies and in theory is should be something I adore. It has witches and is a sapphic romance!
I know it is early but I could not resist when I saw that A Cat Café Christmas was on sale! I had my eye on this last year but never grabbed it but I am excited to put it away until I am in the mood for holiday romances.

Shady Hollow sounds like my perfect book! Why wouldn’t I want to read a cozy mystery where all of the characters are woodland creatures? This is the first book in a series and I hope I adore it and want to marathon all the books.
I was so excited when I found a copy of Can’t Spell Treason Without Tea at the bookstore, especially since it is self-published! It is on my September TBR and I am hoping to start it today.
The next three books are all ones I received special editions of from Fairyloot! Forged by Blood is adult fantasy while Threads That Bind and Bonesmith are YA fantasy.

These are the three books I hauled recently that I have already read! I picked up The Mask of Mirrors for the Book Check Out Book Club and we have a two hour discussion about it on my BookTube channel, so definitely check that out!
A Witch’s Guide to Fake Dating a Demon was a ridiculous and fun time and I cannot wait for the sequel! And I finally bought myself a copy of A Wizard’s Guide to Defensive Baking, which is my favourite book by T. Kingfisher.

Oooh, great haul! Enjoy reading them!
Thank you!
There are some fab books there! I look forward to seeing what you think of them.
I’ll definitely share all my thoughts!
I’m definitely interested in hearing what you have to say about the Sheena Patel book! It’s on my TBR and September list too!
Shady Hollow was a wonderfully cozy mystery. Hope you like it.
I have a feeling I will!
I absolutely NEED A Cat Cafe Christmas in my life. And I really want to read A Wizard’s Guide to Defensive Baking. I had an audio arc of Illuminations and adored it, so I have high hopes for this as well! T Kingfisher might be a new fave for me!
