Words for Book Lovers

I had so much fun putting this list together and I might have to start using these bookish words more often!

Abibliophobia: fear of running out of things to read

Bibliophage: a person who loves to read books

Book-Bosomed: someone who carried a book at all times

Chaptigue: the next-day tiredness you experience from staying up all night reading

Helluo Librorum: an obsessive and insatiable bookworm

Perfictionist: a picky reader

Sentranced: memorized by a sentence

Scrollmate: an author with whom a reader feels a deep connection

Smellbound: being captivated by the smell of books

Tsundoku: acquiring reading materials but letting them pile up in one’s home without reading them

  1. I love your take on this week’s prompt! I can definitely see a lot of these applying to me.

  2. Finally, there’s a name for what I am: a perfictionist 😂 I can easily leave a book half-read if I don’t find it good enough.

Thank you for this interesting post!
