WWW Wednesday (July 20th, 2022)

WWW Wednesday is hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words! All you have to do is answers the following three questions:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Currently Reading

I have a feeling you will be seeing Malice in the next few WWW Wednesday posts because it is a high fantasy novel, which is very much out of my comfort zone. I am about 25% in and I am just now starting to get the hang of things. That is always the way for me in stories with a ton of characters and POVs. I think that the world is interesting and I can feel that we are building up to something epic.

Just Finished

I posted full reviews of both of these books yesterday, as they are new releases! Check that out if you want to read my full thoughts.

Just Like Home was a bit of a disappointment for me. I enjoyed Sarah Gailey’s writing but was not happy with where the story went. I think it is one of those things that readers will either love or hate!

The Bodyguard was such a fun rom-com! It needs to be adapted into a movie ASAP. Also, I know that Chris Hemsworth is Australian and Jack is American, but that is who I was picturing the entire time. I can’t complain!

Starting Next

The T. Kingfisher Readathon starts on Friday, so I will be putting down Malice in order to participate. If you want to see all of the books on my TBR, I shared them last week, so check that post out! I think I will be starting with The Twisted Ones because it is the longest book on my TBR and it is the one that I physically own. I am in the mood for a good horror novel!

  1. I’ve read a little of Sarah Gailey’s work—Upright Women Wanted and some short stories—and while I enjoyed Upright Women Wanted, it also wasn’t quite what I had expected either. I have a feeling they are just one of those authors where I’ll rarely know what’s coming, and sometimes I’ll like it but sometimes I won’t. Sounds like Just Like Home was one of those for you, too.

  2. So excited that you are reading Malice! I’m always carrying epic fantasies for a couple of weeks because they are such slow reads. I can’t wait to see what you think of it! Happy reading. 🙂

      1. I’m buddy reading the series with Dini. We haven’t had time to jump into book two but so excited! I’ve heard the same things. I’ve read his other series first and the second book is my top book of the year!
