What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
Currently Reading

I am about halfway through the audiobook of Dead Silence, and it is intense! I do not think I have ever read a SciFi horror, but it is definitely a genre I need to explore. There are a lot more layers to this story than I was expecting, and I am invested!
I just started an eARC of One Italian Summer and I am not sure how to feel about it yet. It starts off very heavy and I am curious to see where this is going. I know that Rebecca Serle is incredible at creating twists and there is always a subtle magical element to her stories, so I am waiting for it. It will be interesting to see what I think since I did not vibe with The Dinner List but loved In Five Years.
Just Finished

I read The Falconer for a book club, and it took me so much longer to read than it should have! I think I just don’t love fae stories- I don’t know what it is about them that I don’t click with! I thought that Elizabeth May did some interesting things with this story, and I did like our main character and the setting, but this ends on a cliffhanger, which was infuriating to me! I am not sure if I will read the sequel or not.
I listened to an ALC of The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea and I was so enchanted by it. There is something so whimsical and magical about the writing style and the setting. I wish I knew more about Korean mythology because I think there are a lot of beautiful nods to the original stories that went over my head. That said, not knowing did not hinder my enjoyment. It just made me want to learn more about Korean mythology!
Starting Next

I am in the mood for nonfiction, particularly a memoir. Libro.fm included In the Shadow of the Mountain in their influencer program this month. This is the author’s story of gathering a group of sexual assault survivors together in order to climb Mount Everest. It sounds powerful!

So glad to hear you enjoyed The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea! I’m really looking forward to staring it soon, my library audiobook hold is close to coming up and I can’t wait!
It was so so whimsical! I kind of want to read it again once I have a physical copy. I need to annotate it!
Scifi horror probably scares me the most, I haven’t read any but going off of movies I have seen!
I am such a chicken. I could never watch a SciFi horror! Reading the book is enough for me. It is definitely intense!
I’ve been wondering about One Italian Summer. It sounds good, I’ll be looking forward to your review.
I don’t know what to think yet! The food descriptions are perfection though. I will post a full review when I am done!
Enjoy your reading! I really want to read The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea, it sounds so good!
I´m about to finish The Blood Mirror (4th Lightbringer book!)
I love Fae books so I wonder if I’ll love The Falconer? ❤️
I think you might! The fae in this are the villains, with some exceptions, and the main character is a far hunter. It’s interesting!
Ohhhh, Dead Silence sounds so good! Adding it to my TBR!
It’s so so creepy. I’m so into it right now!
I am so excited for the The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea!! Still waiting on my copy to arrive! Happy reading!!

Excited to hear your final thoughts on One Italian Summer!!
I will definitely post a full review!
I’m reading One Italian Summer right now too! It’ll be interesting to compare reactions once we’re both done. I tend to like her writing, although I don’t always buy the twists to her plots!
Yes! We need to compare our thoughts in the end!!
