WWW Wednesday is hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words! All you have to do is answers the following three questions:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
Currently Reading

Reader, it is finally happening! I am currently reading Firekeeper’s Daughter and it is surpassing every expectation that I had for it. I read my best book of 2021 in January of last year, and I have a feeling that this could become a pattern. As of writing, I am about 60% of the way through this glorious book (I am listening to the audiobook while physically reading it at the same time), and I have already cried and I am so deeply invested. If this continues, I don’t see how another book can top it.
Just Finished

I was lucky enough to receive an eARC of Finlay Donovan Knocks ‘Em Dead, which is the sequel to Finlay Donovan Is Killing It. I think that fans of the first book will be happy with the sequel, especially as we see Finlay and Vero become even closer. Their friendship really is the highlight of the series for me! Finlay as a character can be incredibly frustrating, though that is sort of the point. I loved the premise of this one and I have a feeling we are being set up for an interesting sequel! I will say that despite there being some laugh-out-loud moments, it wasn’t quite as funny as the first. And I do wish we had a little more character development with Finlay, especially when it comes to her romantic life. I cannot wait to see what everyone thinks of this one when it comes out on February 1st!
Starting Next

I was sent both a physical ARC and an ALC of The Christie Affair, and I cannot wait to read it! The story follows Agatha Christie and reimagines what happened during the 11 days that she disappeared. I have always been curious about that time in Agatha Christie’s life, and I cannot wait to see what Nina de Cramont does with this story. I also want to get back into historical fiction, so this is perfect. Look out for The Christie Affair when it comes out on February 1st.

I’m sooooo excited you’re finally reading Firekeeper’s Daughter!!! I loved the audio for it, loved hearing the Native American language actually spoken throughout – SO SO GOOD!
I was going to tag you in this! I knew you’d be excited. I actually finished it this morning and wow. Was not expecting where it went but it was incredible!!
I live in Northern Ontario, so I’m very familiar with this area, so that was interesting to me as well!
YES!!! I’m so glad you enjoyed it!! I didn’t see where it was going either and I love when books can do that, completely surprise me!
That’s also really cool! I love when books are set in an area you’re familiar with 😀
Glad you are enjoying Fire Keeper’s Daughter! It’s on my tbr.
I finished it! It was incredible! Definitely look up the trigger warnings though because there are a lot.

I’m OK with no trigger warnings but thanks for letting me know ❤❤
Happy to hear you’re loving Firekeeper’s Daughter and that it’s living up to the hype!
It is excellent! Nothing like I expected but I kind of love that!
I love that it’s a debut novel, too!
I am planning on picking up Firekeeper’s Daughter so soon! I should have read it last year when I got it. lol. I have started seeing more Finlay around and I’m quite curious now! Glad you enjoyed. 🙂
My WWW!
That is exactly what I did with Firekeeper’s Daughter! So happy I finally made time for it!
Going to make it a priority, maybe this month!! 🙂
Glad to hear you’re enjoying Firekeeper’s Daughter. Be prepared for that ending though, as I got to the last 70% of the book after each chapter I felt like I needed to put the book down and pause before continuing – it gets heavy!
I finished it today and was not prepared. I’ve never had my opinion about a character change so quickly and was devastated. Definitely a lot of trigger warnings as well. Was incredible though!
Right?! You think you know something and turns out you really don’t oof it was heavy! I agree, such an important and incredible read. Glad you enjoyed it!
I’m so excited to hear that you’re enjoying Firekeeper’s Daughter, I put it down because I wasn’t appreciating it fully and I need to get back to it!
I finished it and loved it, but I do think it is one you have to be in the mood for! It is a lot to take in, especially the last third.
That’s good to know, thank you!
I loved Firekeeper’s Daughter when I read it! I hope it stays a fantastic read until the end for you <3
I finished it and it was incredible. I was not prepared for the last third but it was so well done.
I enjoyed Finlay Donovan, I thought it was just as good as the first one.
It was good! I’m curious to see what she does with the next one.
I read Firekeeper’s Daughter for my YA Lit class in college last year!! Loved it so much words cannot describe. I know she is coming out with another book that is set in the same area, so the characters are bound to come into play with the new book too!
Can’t wait to read Finlay!!
I think you’re going to love it! Same vibes as the first.
Oh my gosh, I read Finlay Donovan is Killing It and loved it, I’m so going to read this sequel!!!
Yes you must!!!
