Blogger Stats Book Tag

I am back with another tag, and I think this is a fun one! I found it on Esther’s blog, Cozy With Books. It is a great mix of book and blogging questions!

Last 3 Books You Read

Can you tell I am in a fall reading mood? The last three books I read were Dracula, Summer Sons, and The Inheritance of Orquidea Divina, and I recommend them all!

Spoilers or Spoiler-Free

Honestly, it depends on how tense a book is! I do this more often with movies and TV series, but I will occasionally google a spoiler for a book if it is stressing me out to the point that I don’t want to continue reading. Sometimes I just have to know, though I haven’t done that in awhile.

How Long Have You Been Book Blogging?

Almost four and a half years! I started in May of 2017.

A Book You Read in One Sitting

I have done this with every book in The Kiss Quotient series, The Heart Principle most recently! There is something so propulsive about them and I always know that I need to set a day aside to focus on them because I know I will one to read them in one sitting.

Preferred Book Size (Novella, Tome, Etc.)

I am boring and prefer an average sized novel, somewhere between 300-400 pages. There are definitely exceptions as some of my favourite books are either novellas or tomes, but I am more likely to pick up an average sized novel.

Amount of Books On Your TBR

I am not currently with my physically TBR, so I can’t count them, which I am not mad about because I don’t want to know! I am slowly working on clearing out my Goodreads TBR, but it is currently sitting at 923 books…

A Book You DNF’D

I am so sad that I DNFed Accidentally Engaged because I truly thought I was going to love it! It is a romance about baking and has the fake dating trope, but I just could not get into it. The writing wasn’t working for me and I wasn’t invested in the romance. If you have read this, please let me know if it gets better!

Recent Awards or Milestones

I am so close to 6,000 followers on WordPress, which is something I never expected to happen and a number that I cannot even conceptualize. I am so grateful to you all and for all of your comments and anyone who is reading this. I love having this creative outlet!

Best Interaction With An Author You Enjoy

I do not interact with too many authors! I did go to a Mitch Albom book signing a few years ago and he was fantastic!

Average Number of Books You Read Per Month

Anywhere between 8 to 12! It really depends on how busy I am during the month or if I find a TV series that is distracting me from reading, honestly.

Top 3 Publishers

Tor, Orbit, and Riverhead! There books usually are hits for me! I keep meaning to write about each of them and share my favourite books that they published. I will one of these days!

Social Media Sites Your Blog Uses

Instagram

YouTube

Twitter

Average Amount of Time You Spend Networking

I spend quite a bit of time on bookstagram, blogs, and booktube, but I am not sure what I am doing is networking! I could probably be better at that.

Most Comfortable Blogging Position

Sitting up in bed, if I am honest!

Music Or Quiet When Writing Reviews?

I need some sort of noise! I cannot sit in silence. Lately I have been watching ambient rooms on YouTube when I am reading or working on blog stuff.

Can You Sum Up Your Blogging Style In 5 Words?

Spontaneous content whenever inspiration sparks!

I never want blogger to feel like a chore, so I write posts whenever I am inspired to do so!

A Blog You Look Up To Starting Out

I have been doing this for awhile and a lot of the blogs I followed back then are no longer active. However, I do remember reading Paper Fury before I even ever thought about starting blogging myself!

Best Book You Reviewed So Far

There are so many, but Redemptor is a recent favourite!

Best Piece of Blogging Advice

Do this for as long as you love it! It is simple advice, but it is so easy to become burned out because blogging is so much more work than I ever expected when I took this on. I am so happy that I still love it all these years later but it took me some time to find a balance!

  1. I love this tag! I’ve only just started my blogging journey and loving it, but like you say it’s a lot of work, especially when I have a toddler running around 😂

  2. Great tag! I haven’t done one in ages. I also loved Tor Books. How did you like Summer Sons? You’re not on TikTok? 😊 Everywhere is time consuming 😂

  3. Hurrah for Dracula! The book, I mean – not the vampire. I loved reading your answers! I may have to do this one, too, just for funsies.

      1. I just love Mina Harker so much. Those boys would have died so fast without her! A friend of mine did her thesis on how men in lit withholding information from women “for their own good” always puts the women in greater danger and had a whole chapter on Dracula. I haven’t actually read it, but I think about it every time I read a book like this. 😂

  4. What a fun tag! I have Accidentally Engaged on my bookshelf at home, I’ll make sure I’m really in the mood for it before I start it.
