Currently Reading

I have been in a bit of a slump, but I have started the audiobook of The Death of Jane Lawrence and it is exactly what I need right now. It is so spooky and atmospheric and I am loving the narration. Even though it is over 14 hours, I have a feeling I will fly through it and won’t be able to stop listening.
Just Finished

The Inheritance of Orquidea Divina was so whimsical and intriguing. At its heart, it really is a family drama. We follow Orquidea’s family who are all gathered for her funeral and we also get flashbacks of her entire life. It came together so beautifully and I thought that the writing was perfect for the story. I will say that there are a lot of characters and the jumping between time periods can be disorientating, but it is worth it!
Starting Next

I am finally going to read Horrorstor! I love Grady Hendrix and this book has been on my TBR for years. I love the idea of a thriller set in a story like Ikea.

Just finished The Death of Jane Lawrence! Love this list ❤️
What did you think? I’m intrigued so far!
It will be the best pure gothic novel this year, and the magic system really made me think. The pacing lagged a bit in my opinion, but that’s typical of the gothic genre.
I’m finally reading American Gods. I’m not far in, but I do see what all the fuss is about.
That’s good to hear because American Gods is the book that has been on my physical TBR the longest. I need to get to it!
Enjoy Horrorstor! It was so good, weird and strange, but good!
