September 2025 Book Releases

Fall book releases are here and I could not be more excited! There are also a lot of fun preorder campaigns this month that are worth checking out. Let me know if any of these are on your radar!

September 2nd

Erin. A Craig is amazing at writing atmosphere and I love the idea of starting the fall season with something new from her! Give me all of the creepy forest stories- those are some of my favourites to read this time of year.

I read an eARC of Sweet Heat and it is by far my favourite romance of the year and it will be tough to beat. You do have to read the first book, Honey & Spice, to fully appreciate this one but that is also one of my faves so it is worth it!

We are getting more and more romances with fall vibes on the cover and I am loving it! Publishers and authors know that a lot of readers read seasonally, so it makes sense. This looks absolutely adorable and I love that the MMC is a baker with nice forearms.

There is something about this cover that I just love and calls to me. The flying to the moon aspect of the story sounds a bit out there but I am definitely intrigued and will never say no to vampires.

I have an eARC of this one and didn’t realize it is actually a prequel to Divine Rivals, which is on my TBR but I have not read. It’ll be interesting for me to read the series in chronologically order rather than publication order and to see how that works for me.

Firekeeper’s Daughter continues to be one of my favourite YA novels, and I am excited to have something new from Angeline Boulley.

September 9th

I know that Andrew Joseph White is a beloved YA author, so I am excited to see that this is his adult debut. This sounds like a powerful and eerie book and it is definitely one I want to prioritize.

So excited that we are getting another full length novel from M.L. Rio! It is also no secret that I love any novel that involves music in some way, so this sounds right up my alley.

I jumped on the Rachel Harrison train last year and understand the hype! I particularly love what she does with haunted houses, so I am happy we are getting another one from her.

Hannah Bonam-Young wrote one of my favourite romances of the year and I want to eventually make my way through her entire backlist. I will be starting with this one because not only does it scream fall, it is also set in Northern Ontario, which happens to be where I am from.

How adorable does this look? I am so excited that we are getting so many fall/Halloween themed romances this year! We need to sapphic witchy romances and I cannot wait to read this one.

I have read something by Britney S. Lewis in the past and thought it was beautifully written and cannot wait for a vampire/werewolf story from her. I am admittedly not the biggest fan of werewolves but I already know she can tell an amazing story so I am up for trying this one.

We do not get a lot of second chance romances in romantasy, so I think this could be refreshing!

September 16th

There is a ghost dog! That is all I need! But this also looks so stinking adorable and I love the idea of a cozy fantasy/romance with ghosts.

I am slowly dipping my toes into the genre of romantic suspense and I am not sure how I feel about it quite yet but this sounds like it has potential!

I have an eARC of this that I hope to get to soon because it sounds really cute and has me written all over it!

I have been wanting to try more from Naomi Novik and maybe a novella is a good idea. The fact that the main character seems to be a witch of some kind is a bonus.

I am hoping to read this the second it comes out because I have heard incredible things about this author in general and this one is really calling to me. I am so intrigued by the mixed media elements. Also, this has to be one of the coolest preorder campaigns I have seen!

There seems to be a lot of books set in Halloween-obsessed towns and I am loving it! There is something nostalgic about this cover and I am hoping I get the same feeling from the story itself.

September 23rd

This is my current read and it so sweet and I love the angst. It is my first book from Alexandra Vasti, so I will have to go back and read her backlist at some point.

This sounds like a one sitting read that will keep me up at night and that is exactly what I am in the mood for!

There are so many incredible authors contributing to this collection and I am curious to learn why each of them loves writing in the horror genre!

We are getting more and more books about knights and they have all been hits, and I think this will be the same if early reviews are any indication!

There is something about haunted dolls that intrigues me and I cannot explain it. I got chills just from reading the synopsis!

This sounds like it is going to be quirky and fun and exactly what this author is known for!

September 30th

I have an eARC of this one and I like the idea of our main character being part wolf and part witch- that is something new for me!

I love this series and Alex as a character and I am relieved that we are getting another book- I wasn’t sure if we were!

I love C.L. Clark’s writing and I have read some incredible reviews for this one already!

I cannot lie, this cover is what caught my eye at first! That said, this does sound super creepy and I need to know what happens, so I will be reading it!

I finally read Done and Dusted and it was my first cowboy romance and I am starting to understand the hype; however, this sounds more like my thing!

I have heard so many amazing things about Lily King in general and I am definitely intrigued by the set up of this one.

This is a novella within the Belladonna series and I loved that first book, so I definitely need to finish the series so that I can read this in December for the holiday season!

  1. There are so many great sounding books getting released these days! I’m also looking forward to Shifter and Shadow by Sharon Shinn (a new book in her Mystic & Rider series) and A Philosophy of Thieves by Fran Wilde (first in a new series).

      1. I’ve only heard of it because I went searching for a different new release by Sharon Shinn, and found that this one is upcoming, too. I think it’s from an indie publisher this time, so it doesn’t have the same marketing push that a Big 5 publisher would have.
