April TBR 🌷

After co-hosting three readathons in the last four months, I am ready to get back to mood reading! Now that spring is here (I say as it is currently snowing), I am in the mood for some lighter reads. Think contemporary romance, romantasy, and contemporary romance!

I am part of a witchy book club and I am hosting the liveshow for Gravebriar this Sunday! It is technically the March book but I wanted to read it closer to the discussion so it is still fresh in my mind. It is a YA fantasy romance between witches who are part of warring covens. The House Witch is the April book and it has been on my radar for a minute now. It sounds perfect for the mood I am currently in!

Heartless Hunter seems to be the romantasy of the moment and I want to see what everyone is talking about! I am always intrigued by the setup of witch vs witch hunter!

Tales of the Celestial Kingdom is a short story collection within the world of the Celestial Kingdom. It is set in the past, present, and future of the original duology and follows familiar characters. Proceeds from the collection are going to charity, which I didn’t realize until I read the author’s note! It also includes stunning illustrations from Kelly Chong, who is one of my favourite illustrators.

I have a physical ARC of Evocations and it is truly one of the prettiest books I own! I have had it for a few months now but wanted to save it for closer to release day (it comes out in May!). I cannot wait to see what S.T. Gibson does with a new series and to be back with her writing!

If a romance is centered around a wedding, it is pretty much guaranteed that I am going to enjoy it! Happily Ever Never sounds so original because our characters are Wedding Objectors, so they are hired to object at people’s weddings. The drama!

I am currently listening to an ALC of Someone You Can Build a Nest In and I can honestly say this is unlike anything else I have ever read and I am LOVING it! It is somehow cozy and romantic but horrifying? So good!

I read the first two books in the Bridge Kingdom series in March and I cannot wait to continue on with the series. It is quickly becoming one of my favourite fantasy romance series. So, The Inadequate Heir and The Endless War are top priorities for me this month!

What is the one book you are most excited to read in April?

  1. This is an epic tbr you have planned. I hope you get to read them all this month!

  2. Evocations is soooo beautiful, I am more than a little obsessed with the cover!! I haven’t made a dedicated April TBR but I’m hoping to finish a few current reads (so that my currently reading goodreads shelf doesn’t have 10+ books on it lol), catch up on ARCs and hopefully dive into a few new releases, I’m very curious about Leigh Bardugo’s new book but haven’t decided if I’ll buy it and make it a priority this month or wait for some reviews to get a better feeling if it’s my kind of book or not!
