Realmathon is happening throughout the month of April and is a team-based readathon! Each of the teams centers around a different genre and the creator (Cassidy from Covers With Cassidy) put together elaborate backstories for each realm. Check out the announcement video for all of the details!
I chose Team Ilma, which is the SciFi and non-fiction team. I have been on a SciFi kick this year, so it felt like the perfect team for me!

I am in the middle of quite a few SciFi series, so I thought I would take this opportunity to catch up on some of them!

Record of a Spaceborn Few is the third book in the Wayfarer series. The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet is one of my favourite books ever, so I am thrilled that I am finally finishing the series.

The Galaxy, and the Ground Within is the fourth and final book in the Wayfarer series! I have not looked into this book at all because I want to be surprised since each of the books in the series follows different characters, but this is probably my favourite cover of the bunch!

Network Effect was on my March TBR, but I figured it was best to save it for the readathon! This is the first full length novel in the Murderbot series and it is the last book I need to read to be caught up!

I read and loved Winter’s Orbit in March, so I cannot wait to get to Ocean’s Echo. I know that it is more of a companion novel and follows different characters, but I loved Everina Maxwell’s writing and the world that she built. I know nothing else about this one but I am excited!

Into the Drowning Deep has been on my TBR for years and it just happens to be one of the host’s favourites, which is one of the prompts for the readathon. I read my first Mira Grant in February and really enjoyed it! I also realized that I adore SciFi horror, so I have high hopes for this one.

The Scourge Between Stars is releasing in April and it is the idealbook for the readathon. It is a novella, so it will be a quick read and is also a hybrid genre (which gives you bonus points!). As I said, I love SciFi horror, so this is perfect for me!

Ashes of the Sun is another host favourite and it has been described as gay Star Wars, so of course I have to read it! I actually own the first two books, so if I have time I would love to get to the sequel as well.

Some Desperate Glory is another April release and I absolutely loved Emily Tesh’s duology, so I am thrilled that we are getting a full length novel from her.

Sounds like a fun readathon. I’ll have to check it out!
You definitely should!
Sounds like a fun readathon! Though you can keep the sci-fi horror. While I enjoyed INTO THE DROWNING DEEP, I also learned that the sci-fi horror subgenre is NOT for me. 😉
Hahaha that’s fair!
I read a fun YA/NA book last year called The Stars Between Us by Cristen Terrell. Dystopian Scifi Coming Of Age
I just looked it up and it sounds interesting! Love the cover!
I read it as an ARC. I just found my review of it. https://cobbledpots.com/2022/04/20/the-stars-between-us/
I love Sci-fi horror too and Into the Drowning Deep is SO GOOD! I hope you love it!
Yay! I love hearing that!!
Some Desperate Glory is one I want to read too!
