Books I Loved So Much I Had to Get a Copy for My Personal Library

I tend to listen to a lot of audiobooks and sometimes some books are just so good that I need to buy a physical copy for my shelves. This happens a lot for me with eARCs as well!

A Psalm for the Wild-Built is one of my favourite novellas and I listened to the audiobook (which is amazing, btw!) but I knew I needed a copy for my shelves. I also preordered a copy of the sequel and have since read that and loved it just as much!

I had an ALC of This Vicious Grace and I had no idea what to expect going into this one but I had no idea that I would fall in love with it as much as I did. There is a lot about this book that might not have worked for me but it just all came together and I devoured this book! This may be cheating because my copy came later from Fairyloot but I would have bought a different copy either way!

I knew that I would buy a copy of You Made a Fool of Death with Your Beauty because Akwaeke Emezi is an auto-buy author for me, but I was sent an eARC and this became one of my favourite romances of all time so I preordered a copy. I loved it so much that I am tempted to buy a copy of the UK edition as well!

I listened to Legends and Lattes on audio because the author is a fantastic narrator but I wanted to buy a copy to support the author further since it was self-published! It has since been picked up by a traditional publisher, which is exciting.

I read Part of Your World last November and the book didn’t come out until April of this year. It was such a long wait because this is my all-time favourite romance and it is now proudly displayed on my shelf.

I was sent an ALC of The Inheritance of Orquidea Divina from Libro.fm and I kind of listened to it on a whim and quickly became enamoured with it. The cover is also so stunning in person, so I treated myself to a copy and love having it on my shelves!

I read The Gilded Ones for a book club, so I chose to listen to it on audio. It was so intense and fantastic, so I knew I needed a copy. The sequel is out now and I need to get to it.

Plain Bad Heroines was another ALC from Libro. fm and another book that took me by surprise. The physical book is absolutely stunning and the author included illustrations throughout, so I am so glad to have a copy.

I am noticing that there are a lot of romances on this list! I think that is because I tend to listen to them on audio or I have eARCs, so I only buy the romances that I truly love, and that includes You Had Me at Hola!

I, like many others, chose to listen to Sadie on audio and it is one of the best audiobooks I have ever listened to! I found a physical copy for a good price, so I grabbed a copy and am happy to have it.

  1. You have some of my favorites in this list! Orquedia Divina had me bawling my eyes out, just a beautiful story overall. Legends and Lattes is on my Fall TBR, so I hope to enjoy it as much as you did. I love reading Romance on audiobook, I find myself extending my walks and time at the gym just to keep listening😂 you def picked up some awesome reads!💜

  2. Sadie is definitely one of the best! I think that was like my second or third ever audiobook and I was blown away. It really solidified my love of full cast productions 😍 I also had Legends & Lattes on my list today and although I haven’t bought them yet, I’d defo love to have the Monk & Robot series on my shelf. Great list!
