Currently Reading

As of writing, I am 130 pages into Last Night at the Telegraph Club and I am loving it. It deserves all of the awards! I think a lot of people will be seen by Lily and her journey of self-discovery. We have yet to visit the Telegraph Club, but it is coming and I am excited. I also love that we get flashbacks to Lily’s parents and their history.
Just Finished

Sense and Second-Degree Murder is the sequel to Pride and Premeditation, a book I read and loved last year. I think I might have enjoyed the second book even more! I love what Tirzah Price did with the original story of Sense and Sensibility and the sisterhood in this one was strong. The mystery was well done and I just think these books are a fun time. I cannot wait for the next book, Manslaughter Park!
I listened to an ALC of What Moves the Dead and fell in love with the narration. I will now listen to anything that Avi Roque narrates! I also loved the story itself. It was so eerie and creepy and really got under my skin. I think fans of Mexican Gothic will loves this! I am in my T. Kingfisher era and I have no plans to stop.
Starting Next

I am buddy reading Malice with some friends in July and it is so huge and outside my comfort zone that I think I need to start it ASAP! Everyone seems to love John Gwynne, so I am hoping this is the book that will make me fall in love with high fantasy.
I was approved for an ALC of What Souls Are Made Of and I screamed! I absolutely adore Tasha Suri, the author of The Jasmine Throne, and I have been really into these classic remixes. This one is a Wurthering Heights retelling, a classic I have never read and have no intention of reading, and I am curious to see what Suri does with these famous characters!

Ah you’ve made me even more interested in that T. Kingfisher book! I can’t wait for it to come out already!
It’s soooo creepy!! Loved every second of it!
I want to read Malice! I just haven’t found the time yet lol.
It is such a huge book!
Pride and Premeditation is on my TBR and I can not wait for What Moves The Dead as I loved Mexican Gothic!
Pride and Premeditation is a fun read. Perfect for the summer I think!
What Moves the Dead is the perfect comp for Mexican Gothic!
These look like fun reads! I’ve been curious about that Jane Austen murder mystery series; it sounds really amusing.
I haven’t read Pride and Premeditation yet, but I was thinking of reading it for Jane Austen July. I might just have to read the sequel, too. Glad to hear you enjoyed them both!!
I think they would be perfect. Quick reads too!
I love the idea of Jane Austen murder mysteries, but then I read Death Comes to Pemberley and was disappointed. Then again, Manslaughter Park is the best title ever so I may have to read it!
I haven’t read Death Comes to Pemberley, but Pride and Premeditation was so much fun and felt like the same characters from the original. Manslaughter Park is such a clever name!!
Is there one for Northanger Abbey? That’s my favourite Austen and it seems like the most obvious choice to turn into a murder mystery…
Agreed! I think Sense and Second Degree Murder was better than the first. I loved it so much. Great books! Can’t wait to see what you think of Malice!!
There was something just a bit more charming about the second one!!
i’ve never heard of what souls are made of but it sounds amazing! hope you enjoy it💜
I’m starting it today!
I was hesitant on the new T. Kingfisher because it looked really scary, but I can handle a Mexican Gothic comparison!
Major Mexican Gothic vibes. I would say it’s much more creepy than it is scary!
Hope you enjoy the rest of ‘Last Night at the Telegraph Club’!
A T. Kingfisher era is the best era! 😂🥰
It truly is!
