Stacking the Shelves (#4)

Stacking The Shelves (hosted by Reading Reality) is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. Don’t forget audiobooks!

Hannah Kent is one of my favourite authors, so I could not pass up on this gorgeous Waterstones edition of Devotion. Look at those stencilled edges! My only problem now is that I am scared to read from this edition because it is just so pretty.

After reading So Many Beginnings, I knew that I needed all of the books in this remix series. A Clash of Steel is actually the first one that was published and is a Treasure Island retelling with lady pirates and a sapphic romance. Cannot wait to read it!

I have been wanting to read The Sentence since it came out last year and I am so excited to have a copy. It was just shortlisted for the Women’s Prize for Fiction! I have heard so many incredible things and I am curious to see what Louise Erdrich does with the covid timeline.

I cannot believe it has taken me this long to bite the bullet and buy a copy of If We Were Villains, especially since I love dark academia and anything to do with Shakespeare!

I have downloaded three audiobooks this week! I used an audible credit for Legends and Lattes and I am listening to it as we speak. I am having a blast with this one and it is living up to the vibes of the cover. Also, the author is the narrator and he is amazing!

The next two books were part of Libro.fm’s influencer program. The Lost Dreamer was one of my most anticipated books of the month, so I was thrilled that it was included and it will be my next listen. I love anything to do with dreams! I went back and forth on whether I wanted to read The Atlas Six, but Libro.fm made that decision easy for me by sending it my way. I am so curious to see what I think!

The fact that I was approved for eARCs of two of my most anticipated releases of the year absolutely thrills me! The Genesis Wars is the sequel to The Infinity War, which ended on quite the cliffhanger so I am anxious to see what happens. Akwaeke Emezi is an auto-buy author for me, and I cannot wait to see what they do with romance. I just know that You Made a Fool of Death With You Beauty is going to blow me away!
