2020 Releases I Still Want to Read

There were so many books released this year that I wanted to get to but it is 2020 and I don’t have to explain why it didn’t happen. Also, mood reader problems! These are books I still want to read at some point in the future.

I have the audiobook of Long Bright River, and I cannot believe I haven’t listened to it yet! I have been recommended it so many times and it seems like it will be the kind of mystery that I am drawn to. Definitely will be a priority in 2021.

The Girl with the Louding Voice has the potential to become a new favourite novel, and that may be why I haven’t pick it up. I sometimes put off books I know I am going to love- I don’t know why!

The Once and Future Witches wasn’t initially on my radar, but it has been receiving rave reviews and I do love a good witchy book. I will probably wait until next fall to read it!

Akemi Dawn Bowman wrote one of my favourite books, Starfish, and I was so excited about Harley in the Sky that I cannot believe I didn’t read it right away.

Erik Larson is one of those authors whose books I have been wanting to read for ages. They are all on my TBR, but I just have never made them a priority. I neglected nonfiction this year, but I am determined to change that in 2021. I have heard so many great things about The Splendid and the Vile!

I have the audiobook for Leave the World Behind, and I am very intrigued by the premise. It has been getting mixed reviews, but it does sounds like something I will enjoy, so we will see!

All of Rachel Lynn Solomon’s books are on my TBR, and I know that she has a couple more releasing in 2021 that I am excited for. I need to read Today Tonight Tomorrow before those ones come out. It looks adorable!

I have said this many times, but Legendborn will be the first book I read in 2021. Cannot wait!

Ashley Woodfolk wrote The Beauty That Remains, which is one of my favourite books. I somehow missed the release of When You Were Everything and forgot about it until I was putting this post together. It flew under the radar, which is a shame. I will read it in 2021 and share all my thoughts!

You Should See Me in a Crown was so beloved this year and I kept meaning to pick it up but just never did. It is a huge priority for 2021, as I know I am going to adore it!

Are there any 2020 books that you still want to read?

  1. For me it has to be The Once and Future Witches and The Invisible Life of Addie La Rue, however I think they will probably end up being 2021 reads! I am probably picking up The Once and Future Witches earlier on in the year, Addie La Rue, I am slightly apprehensive, it might turn out to be one of those overrated best sellers 😐

  2. I just finished Legendborn and it was so good!! I also really want to get to You Should See Me in a Crown! I meant to read it when it came out but life got in the way and I never got to it!!

    This is a great list!

  3. When You Were Everything was fantasic! I still have Legendborn and You Should See Me in a Crown on my TBR from this year too… I don’t know why I didn’t get to either of them but I am hoping to next year.

Can’t wait to see your thoughts on the witch-y book. I am also always look for witchy stories and somehow missed that one this year!

  4. The Once and Future Witches is incredible, one of the best books I’ve read this year – I absolutely loved it! You Should See Me In A Crown is really good too. Hope you get to all these books soon!

  5. I hope you get to read and enjoy all of these. I seriously need to read Legendborn soon as it’s quite literally waiting on my shelf 🙈 and I completely recommend The Once & Future Witches, it was one if my favourite reads of 2020, possibly even my top one which definitely came as a slight surprise. After devouring both of the authors books last year she’s become a new favourite of mine.
