Five Books I Didn’t Get to in 2019

Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by the wonderful Shanah @ Bionic Book Worm.

Do you have all day? That is how long it would truly take me to tell you all of the books I didn’t get to this year. I am so glad that I only have to tell you about five of them.

American God’s by Neil Gailman

Let’s be honest. This book has been on this list now every year since I purchased it (2015), is it ever going to happen? I truly want to read it and I don’t know why I never pick it up. Maybe I will just try to read the first chapter and see if that gets me excited about it. I mean I love mythology and I love Neil Gaiman. What is wrong with me?!

The Heart’s Invisible Furies by John Boyne

I started this book last summer and was really into. Something came up that forced me to put it down and I just never picked it up again. Everyone raves about this book and I love John Boyne’s writing, so this has to be a priority in 2020!

Letters to the Lost by Brigid Kimmerer

I ordered this book from Book Outlet a couple Christmases ago and I remember everyone telling me how incredible it is. I have no idea why it is still sitting in my shelves haunting me. I have a good feeling about this one and need to make room for it in my 2020 TBR!

Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor

I have been wanting to read something by Laini Taylor for the longest time. I also own The Daughter of Smoke and Bone, which I haven’t read. This seems to be one of those books that you either love or hate and I’m curious to see where I stand. I get the impression I will love her writing style!

The Dragon Republic by R. F. Kuang

This is probably the book that I am most mad at myself for not having read yet. I absolutely adored the first book in the series, The Poppy War. The fact that I haven’t read The Dragon Republic is proof at how horrible I am at completing series.
