4. Have fun!

Where do you typically write your blog posts?

Normally I write my blogs in bed with my computer on my lap!

How long does it generally take you to write a book review?

It truly varies! There are times when I know exactly what I want to say about a book and can write it in under 20 mins, and then there are times when I really struggle with what to write and it can take me over an hour.

When did you start your book blog?

I actually do not know this off the top of my head so I had to look back and find my first post! I started this blog on May 25th, 2017!

What is the worst thing about having a book blog in your opinion?

The worst thing about blogging is probably how time consuming it can be. I spend a lot of time writing posts every week, and I also try to read everyone’s posts! I enjoy it so much but if I have to take some time away from it every once in awhile or else I could be on my phone looking through Word Press all of the time!

What is the best thing about having a book blog in your opinion?

There is so much good! I have gained so much for from blogging than I ever expected to! I have met wonderful, like-minded people who are just as passionate about reading as I am. I have found new favourite books that I would never have picked up if it weren’t for blogging. It has also been great reading other people’s opinions and seeing everyone’s perspectives on bookish topics.

What blog post have you had the most fun writing so far?

I really had fun writing my post about Book Endings because it was something I had been thinking about for awhile and it was nice to get it off my chest and to see that other people had similar feelings to me!

What is your favourite type of blog post to write?

I always enjoying writing the posts that I have schedule for Mondays. They are normally discussions or lists and they usually garner the most discussion in the comments. I love hearing what everyone else has to say!

When do you typically write?

Whenever I can find time! It is usually during the evenings on weekdays. It is very rare that I write on the weekends.

Do you review every book you read?

That is one of my goals! I am a little bit behind but I have started to combine my reviews and that seems to be helping.

How do you write your book reviews? With a cup of coffee or tea? With Netflix? Cuddled with your fur baby?

I am usually sitting on my bed with a Diet Coke on my night table. I am always watching something (I am watching Chicago PD right now!) and my cat will also be one my bed. She loves my computer so she makes writing review even more difficult, but she is so cute that it is worth it!

When do you write your book reviews? Right after finishing the book? Two weeks after finishing the book?

I write them whenever I feel inspired! It can be write after I finish a book or even a month later. I want to find a happy medium. I think writing them about a week later is probably best because that way I have had a chance to sort out my thoughts and feelings but not too long that I forget what I wanted to say.

How often do you post?

I post five days a week! I never set out to have a schedule but I just sort of fell in to a system that works for me. I post a book review on Sundays, a discussion/list of Monday, Top Ten Tuesday on Tuesday, WWW Wednesday on Wednesday, and a tag/award/random on Thursday!

I truly enjoyed writing this! I never put much thought in to my writing process and it was nice to reflect on it. I tag all of you because I am nosy and would love to know your answers to all of these questions!

  1. Wow, I thought I was taking up way more time than necessary writing book reviews – I had this crazy thought that everyone wrote their reviews in under 10 minutes! And I feel the same way about the time spent for blogging – it’s so much fun but it’s so hard to find time to write my own posts but I also want to set aside time to read what other people are writing about!

  2. Thanks for sharing, as a newbie I found this fascinating! I’m just working out how I like to review so I love hearing about how other people do it. So impressed that you post five days a week, too.

  3. I get it! the more people you have the more you have to read! I love the interactions! Maybe because I am not getting that many yet XD
I cannot write on bed… it hurts my back and my wrists… *feels like an old guy* haha I get you with one thing also, depending on the book the time we take to write a review. Some books are so “what” as others are “OMG I LOVE IT” so as you try to not give too much hate, you also try not to .. fangirl? I don’t know if there is a less sexist term for that XD

      1. Totally! I cannot keep up sometimes, and rather use my computer than my phone… mainly because it is super uncomfortable haha
Oh lucky you! My bed is some sort of evil presence that wants me to sleep and never wake up XD

  4. Oh I love this Tag, it sounds so cool and I loved reading your answers, as I’m nosy 😄
(I would love to have cat that keeps me company 🐱)
I’m also very impressed that you post 5 times a week, that’s amazing 😍
