December 2025 Book Releases

Here we are! The final “most anticipated book releases” post of 2025! I know I was inconsistent with these this year but I am feeling super motivated for 2026, so hopefully things will improve. December is notoriously a slow release month but there are still a few gems I wanted to put on your radar.

December 1st

We are ending the year with another T. Kingfisher and I could not be happier about it! There are a lot of anticipated releases that I just never get to (look out for a post about that soon!) but T. Kingfisher is an author who I will always prioritize. I love what she does with horror/fantasy, so I have no doubt that Snake-Eater will be a hit for me.

December 2nd

I have yet to read anything by Katrina Leno, but I get the impression that Persephone’s Curse is something different for her. I think the idea of following Persephone’s descendants is an interesting one. I need to read more magical realism because I really do love it!

As a Canadian, I feel like I am obligated to read The Bodyguard Affair! This premise sounds ridiculous but I am kind of here for it. I love the combo of fake dating and a bodyguard romance.

I saw someone describe Fallen Gods as a book where a girl trying to find Thor’s hammer and that is what sold me on! There was a time where I was reading a lot of myth retellings and was burned out on them, but I think I am ready to start picking up a few of them again.

Pride and Prejudice with vampires- yes, please! It seems to be getting some mixed reviews but I am still intrigued enough by the synopsis to give it a shot.

There are thinks about the premise of Sparks Fly (the AI subplot in particular) that give me pause, but I have read a few reviews that say the author handles them well, so I do want to try it.

December 9th

Everything about Seeing Other People sounds like fun to me! I love the idea of two people being haunting (literally) by their exes joining a support group and then falling in love.

December 16th

The Once and Future Queen has been getting amazing early reviews and it is a King Arthur retelling that is apparently a mix of Outlander and Princess Bride.

December 30th

When in Rome really surprised me and I cannot believe that I haven’t continued on with the series especially since In Your Dreams is book four.

There is something about this time of year that makes me want to read dark academia, so An Arcane Inheritance is calling to me!

I have a feeling that We Who Will Die has the potential to become the next big romantasy. It is getting a lot of love already!
