Fall TBR

Fall is my favourite time of year and I cannot wait to get all cozy under a blanket with a chai latte and a good book. This is my loose TBR for the season. Not including new releases (but you know I will be making new books from T. Kingfisher, Tiffany D. Jackson, and Tasha Suri a priority).

Book Club

I am part of a book club on YouTube called The Black Hat Book Cover (find out more here!) and we read a witchy book every single month. So here are the books for October, November, and December. We do a reading sprints every month and then do a live show where we discuss the book at the end of each month.

The Witch who Trades with Death is the October book and it has been on my radar since before it came out and I am excited to have an excuse to make it a priority. I love when death itself is a character and I am intrigued by how the magic works in this world. Sounds unique!

Sapling Cage is my pick so we will be discussing it on my channel in November. I have heard incredible things about this one and I have a feeling there will be a lot of discuss for book club.

Arcana Academy is the December book and I am thrilled because I just bought a copy. It has been a minute since I read and loved a dark academia and I am hopeful this will work for me. It sounds like it has perfect fall vibes!

Everything Else

A Nameless Witch has come highly recommended to me and has so many of my buzz words. Vengeance, true love, and cannibalism? Sign me up! Also there is a demonic fuck named Newt? Already know that will be my favourite character.

A Dark and Secret Magic has such strong fall vibes and I can just see myself reading in on Halloween while I am waiting for trick or treaters. I am certainly someone who drinks pumpkin spice in August so I guess I am the target audience!

I will be buddy reading The Stardust Thief will my friends from book club! I actually read it years ago when it first came out and have been impatiently waiting for the sequel ever since. Now that it is here, I realized I forgot so much about book one so I need to revisit it. I plan to annotate it this time!

I wanted a little romantasy for the season and I have the audiobook of Dire Bound thanks to Libro.fm. This book has been everywhere lately and I want to see what the hype is about. It seems to be a unique take on the genre, which is what I am looking for.

Thorn Season is another romantasy and another audiobook I have thanks to Libro.fm. I haven’t heard much about this one yet but something about it is calling to me.

I have been in a contemporary romance mood this year, so I needed to add one with fall vibes to this tbr. If It Makes You Happy is a new release that has been getting a lot of love and it just sounds super fun!

I know I needed to add a horror novel to this tbr and You Weren’t Meant to Be Human is the only one that is calling to me right now. I have heard incredible things about this author in general and I can’t wait to see what he does with his adult debut.

I loved The Vampires of El Norte, so I am excited to read the author’s new release, The Possession of Alba Diaz. I know this author is incredible at creating atmosphere and I already know I click with her writing, so I have no doubt it is going to work for me.

Behind the Scenes doesn’t scream fall but I have fallen in love with Christina C Jones this year and I have read all of the novellas in this series so I figured it was time to finally read the full length novel.
