New Year’s Book Tag

It has become an annual tradition for me to do this tag! It is the perfect way to look back on the year. Happy New Year everyone!

1. How many books are you planning to read in 2023?

As always, I am setting my Goodreads goal to 52 books, so one book a week. I feel like that is low pressure for me and I never want reading to feel like a competition.

2. Name 5 books that you didn’t get to this past year but want to make a priority in 2023.

I wrote a post where I shared all of the books I put on my TBR cart for 2023, but these are five books I really wanted to get to in 2022 but just didn’t! I am hoping to make Before the Coffee Gets Cold my first read of 2023. The vibe of that book just seems perfect!

A Witch in Time was one of my books for the 12 Challenge in 2022 and I failed miserably at that but this is still a book I am very much interested in reading.

I think that Seven Days in June has the potential to become my favourite romance!

I love a good Pride and Prejudice retelling and The Other Bennet Sister has been recommended to me many times.

The Inheritance Games gets a lot of hype and I want to see what I think!

3. What genre do you want to read more of?

2022 was the year that I discovered cozy fantasy and I want to read more of it in 2023, but I also want to embrace my love for historical fiction. My top two books of 2022 were historical fiction, so it is obviously a genre that works for me but is one that I don’t read as much as I should!

4. Name 3 not-related-to-book goals for 2023.

+ Be more adventurous in terms of video editing

+ Be a better plant owner

+ Connect with more people within the book community

5. What’s a book you have had forever and are determined to read?

I have had The Starless Sea since it came out and it has been haunting me ever since! I actually think this is something I will appreciate, I just know it is one I have to be in the mood for. I didn’t put it on my TBR cart this year because it has been there the last few years and I just avoid it. I am hoping the mood will strike me one day and I will read it on a whim.

6. One word that you’re hoping 2023 will be.

  1. This is wonderful! I managed to do a terrible job of tracking my books (again) this year. This tag would be a perfect way to let go of 2022 and look forward to 2023.
