Christmas Book Haul

My friends and family spoiled me with books this Christmas and I am so so grateful!

I think Santa got the memo that I am reading all of the SPFBO finalists! I started Scales and Sensibility right away and I am having so much fun with it.

Half a Soul is a cozy fantasy that is so beloved and I have a feeling will also be a favourite.

The Raven and the Reindeer is by T. Kingfisher (my new favourite author!) and it is set in winter, so now is the perfect time to read it.

I have been wanting to read something by Victoria Lee and The Fever King has been recommended to me.

Motherthing is a horror I have heard good things about and I have to admit I am drawn to the cover.

I have started to embrace my love of fantasy, which you can probably tell from this haul! I don’t know how I came across The Lady or the Lion but is sounds fantastic!

I wasn’t sure if I wanted to read Valor after having mixed feelings about Malice, but I am going to give it a try now that I own it!

I read Unconquerable Sun by Kate Elliott and was surprised by how much I enjoyed it, so I am excited to try some of her fantasy, starting with Court of Fives.

I have heard amazing things about Ashes of the Sun and I have a feeling I am going to love it, so I am thrilled that I was also gifted the sequel!

The Bear and the Nightingale is one of my favourite books but I have been putting off buying the rest of the series for whatever reason. I cannot wait to finally discover what happens next because I have heard it only gets better from here!

I am rereading The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet for the Book Check Out Book Club and I am hoping to marathon the series, which is something I haven’t done in years. If anyone can make me fall in love with marathoning series again it is Becky Chambers!

I have always loved The Great Gastby and have a collection of different editions, so it made me emotional when I opened up this gorgeous edition! It is huge and comes with a gold slipcase as well as an art print. Here is a link if you want more details!

  1. Amazing! You’re so lucky to have people in your life who give you books! I’m listening to the audiobooks for the Wayfarers series now, currently on book #2. I’ve never read the books before, but I’m loving them. Hope you enjoy your marathon!
