WWW Wednesday (November 16th, 2022)

WWW Wednesday is hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words! All you have to do is answers the following three questions:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Currently Reading

I am in one of those moods where I want to read all of the things, so I am embracing it! I am loving The Hidden Palace, which is the sequel to The Golem and the Jinni, but it is a denser read, so I am taking my time with it. I forgot just how beautiful Helene Wecker’s writing is!

I put off reading holiday romances for as long as I could and I have started Lovelight Farms. I am already hooked! There is something about B.K. Borison’s writing that I connect with and I will always love a romance set on a Christmas tree farm!

My Nonfiction November reading is going well! The Woman They Could Not Silence is fascinating and infuriating. I recommend it!

Just Finished

Look at me making my way through my Fairyloot editions! I had a lot of fun with Violet Made of Thorns. I am not sold on the romance, but Violet was an intriguing character and I thought the world was interesting. I will definitely be checking out the sequel!

Mistakes Were Made is super steamy, sapphic, and has an age-gap romance between a college student and her best friend’s mom! It is everything I was hoping for and these two characters had great chemistry. I will say that I struggle with romances where they are hooking up behind a character’s back (especially when I like said character!) because you just know it is all going to blow up in their face. It was well done though!

I recommend listening to We Were Dreamers on audio because I really like the way that Simu Lui narrates his own story. It felt like I was talking to a friend. There were also moments where he got emotional, which was touching. Simu and I went to the same university and the same time, so it was a strange experience to listen to him talk about that time!

Starting Next

Hench is the last book I need to read for Once Upon a Readathon! I am so proud of myself for sticking to this TBR. I cannot wait to get to this book because I love a good villain origin story!

  2. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on Hench! Mostly because I’m still trying to figure out what exactly I thought about it, more than a year later. It’s definitely a unique read.
