WWW Wednesday (November 9th, 2022)

WWW Wednesday is hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words! All you have to do is answers the following three questions:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Currently Reading

I am a few chapters into Violet Made of Thorns and it is fun so far! I am really liking Violet as the main character and how she uses her abilities as a seer to manipulate others. I am enjoying the flow of Gina Chen’s writing and the banter between Violet and the prince, so I get the feeling that I will have fun with this book. I am hoping we get some twists and turns along the way!

Just Finished

I was in the mood for a classic YA fantasy and that is what Twin Crowns gave me. It is not particularly groundbreaking or memorable, but it was exactly what I needed at the time and I will read the sequel.

Even Though I Knew the End is a novella that I listened to in one sitting thanks to Libro.fm. This is my first book from C.L. Polk, but it will not be my last. It is a sapphic love story that is set in 1930s Chicago and follows a conflict between angels and demons. There was a lot packed into these 144 pages and I was moved by it!

I loved listening to Selma Blair tell her story in the audiobook version of Mean Baby. There were many moments when she got emotional, which made me emotional. She doesn’t hold back when talking about her childhood, her relationship with alcohol, her MS diagnosis, and motherhood.

Starting Next

Mistakes Were Made is the next book in my lineup for Once Upon a Readathon and I am so excited about this! I am ready for a sapphic, age-gap, my best friend’s mom, romance!

  1. Violet Made of Thorns definitely took a few twists towards the end that I didn’t expect it to. I was pleasantly surprised. Hope you continue enjoying it!
