Harry’s House Book Tag

I have spent the majority of June listening to Harry Styles’ new ablum on repeat, so it is only fitting that I would do this book tag! I adore Jawahir for creating this tag and I have to agree that I would love to see Daydreaming as a single.

Rules

  • Mention the creator (That’s Jawahir the Bookworm) and link it back to the original post.
  • Nominate as many people you want and notify them. (either by mentioning them or commenting on their posts).
  • Name a song from the album you’d like for it to be a Single.
  • Have fun!

MUSIC FOR A SUSHI RESTAURANT — A book with a “ride or die” type of friendship

Joy is the friend we all deserve! I love that she supports Feyi no matter what but isn’t afraid to tell her what she needs to hear. It is telling that Joy plays such a small role in You Made a Fool of Death With Your Beauty but she is one of the most memorable characters. She deserves her own novel, in my opinion.

LATE NIGHT TALKING — A book you gave a second chance and ended up liking.

I started and stopped All’s Well many times before I fully committed to it, and I ended up enjoying it. I think it was so different from what I was expecting and is a difficult and confusing read at times, so I had to readjust my expectations for it.

GRAPEFRUIT — A book with “something old and red”

I don’t think that I fully understand this question, but Plain Bad Heroines instantly came to mind. The vibe just feels right to me!

AS IT WAS — A book you liked more as a child.

I still love Charlotte’s Web, but I will never read it as an adult. Why would I do that to myself?

DAYLIGHT — A book with a toxic relationship.

Lucy and Gabe from The Light We Lost are truly the worst. I actually thought that they deserved each other, but they brought other people into their toxicity!

LITTLE FREAK — A book you wished you DNF’d.

I don’t know why I continued on with The Maid. I think I was trying to find what everyone else saw in it but it never clicked for me.

MATILDA — A book with a character/s that has a lot of trauma

Sloane from Blood Scion goes through one trauma after another and it is devastating to read about.

CINEMA — A book whose story is just as good as the cover.

Look how stunning the UK edition of Elektra is! I just read this book and I am so happy that the story itself lived up to the cover. It was one of the most compelling Greek Myth retellings that I have ever read. Now I need to get my hands on a UK copy of Ariadne!

DAYDREAMING — A series you desperately clung to so it “won’t end”.

I think this is what I am currently doing with the Green Bone Saga. I read and loved Jade City, even though it crushed me. I am not ready to see what Fonda Lee does to these characters, so I haven’t continued on with the series.

KEEP DRIVING — A book with a road trip.

I am currently reading American Gods (finally!) and I think you would consider this a road trip story. Historically, I don’t love road trip novels, but we will see where this one goes.

SATELLITE — A book with a side character who deserved better.

Ansel from Serpent and Dove deserved better!

BOYFRIENDS — A book you have a hate/love relationship with.

There are a lot of things about In Five Years that should not have worked for me but I ended up kind of loving it!?

LOVE OF MY LIFE — A book with a soulmate pairing.

I think that D’Vaugn and Kris have such strong chemistry and they did not shy away from having important conversations. The way they met was also so out there. I truly feel like they are soulmates!

  1. This album is absolute perfection. Definitely deserves a book tag lol. I’ve been dying to read Jade City but it’s almost always checked out in the library. I might have to resort to straight up buying it at this point. But from all the positive reviews I’ve seen, I don’t think I’d regret it!

    1. It definitely deserves its own tag!

I truly think they Jade City is worth having on your shelves. I’m not sure if you annotate you books, but I didn’t at the time and now I want to go back an annotate it. The Book haunts me!!

      1. The universe was looking out for me because I managed to find a copy at the library recently and wow, I absolutely LOVED Jade City. Hands down one of the best books I’ve read this year. I’m now hoping to get my hands on Jade War this summer too!
