I am so terrible at participating in readathons, but I absolutely love the sound of Dessertation, so I am going to attempt to do it. This readathon runs the entire month of June. There are a number of hosts, but I will include Jane’s video so you can get all the information you need. Also, today is my birthday, so I obviously have cake on my mind, so this is perfect!

This is a team-based readathon and I chose to join the “Cozy Cookies” team. The goal of the readathon is to complete different recipes, but you get more points if you complete your own team’s recipe. For “Cozy Cookies” our recipe is for the classic chocolate chip cookie! Each ingredient in the recipe is assigned a different prompt, which is just genius!

So, as you can see here, there are seven ingredients in the recipe, so I will have to read seven books in order to complete it!

Butter: Slippery- Keeps sliding off your TBR

This is perfect because there is no more accurate answer to this prompt than American Gods. I have put it on so many TBRs over the last few years and I just have never prioritized it. I recently put together a TBR based on the best first lines, and American Gods made that list. So, it not only works for the butter prompt but it also is one that I have to read in order to post an update about that TBR and what I learned.

Sugar: Sweet – Feel Good Book

I was recently approved for an ALC of Home Field Advantage and if that cover does not scream “feel good” I don’t know what does!

Vanilla: Standard Flavour – Book You Keep Saying You’ll Read

Last Night at the Telegraph Club is a book I have had for months and it has been taunting me from my tbr shelf. It’s one of those books I know I am going to love and have been saving. It sounds incredible!

Eggs: In a Dozen – Part of a Series

Authority is the second book in the Southern Reach trilogy and I have been saying I will read this since I read and loved Annihilation years ago! If I manage to read the third book as well, that would be amazing.

Flour: Back to the Basics – Favourite Genre

This was a hard one for me because I truly do not believe I have a favourite genre. I read a variety of things, but I do think that “Greek Myth retellings” is one of my favourite subgenres, so I went with Elektra for this one. I also have the audiobook!

Salt: Salty – A Tear Jerker

I have been warned that there are elements of Love and Other Words that are heartbreaking! There is nothing that can bring me to tears more than an emotional romance.

Chocolate Chips: Chocoholic – Guilty Pleasure

Cozy mysteries are my “guilty pleasure”, even though I am one of those people who believe you should never feel guilty for reading something you enjoy! These are like candy to me- I fly through them and I enjoy every second. Nightshade for Warning is the second book in the An Enchanted Garden Mystery series.
