Stacking the Shelves (#6)

Stacking The Shelves (hosted by Reading Reality) is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. Don’t forget audiobooks!

I was sent three books from publishers this week. As I said in a previous post, Monday was a difficult day for me but coming home to find an ARC of Love Radio on my doorstep made it a little bit brighter. I am a few chapters into it and can already tell I am going to love this. It is a romance that tackles deeper and more difficult themes but there is also a lightness to it. Dani is an aspiring writer who is cynical about love (and has some trauma I think we are going to dive into soon) and Prince is the host of a radio advice talk show! It is out May 31st from Simon and Schuster Canada!

The Change sounds completely unique! It is a fantasy thriller following three middle-aged women who have recently discovered that they have special gifts. They come across the body of a young woman, someone who police have written off as a drug addict, and they are determined to find the truth. It is out May 3rd from HarperCollins Canada.

In the Dark We Forget is a thriller following a Chinese-Canadian woman who wakes up without her memories and the realization that her parents are missing. I have a feeling it has an unreliable narrator, so I am curious to see how it all unravels! It is out June 21st from HarperCollins Canada.

I was approved for three eARCs from Netgalley this week! Vanessa Jared’s Got a Man was sent to me unsolicited from St. Martins Press and I was so excited when I saw the email! It is one of my most anticipated romances of the year but it doesn’t come out until September 20th, so I didn’t think to look for it on Netgalley. All I know is that it is a second chance romance and the characters on the cover are beyond stunning!

I am under the impression that American Royalty is inspired by Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan, so I am curious to see how that is handled! Danielle is an American Rapper and Jameson is, obviously, a prince. This just sounds like a good time and is out on June 28th from Avon Books.

I am currently reading Honey & Spice and I am not sure what I think just yet! I think that Bolu Babalola is a talented writer, that is already clear so early on. Kiki is an interesting character and I am curious to see how the fake dating plotline unfolds.

My preorder of Sense and Second-Degree Murder came in this week and I cannot wait to read it! This is the sequel to Pride and Premeditation, a book I had a lot of fun with this year. These books are YA cozy mystery retellings of Jane Austen’s novels! It also doesn’t hurt that they have stunning covers.

I bought The Seed Keeper on a whim and came home to check Goodreads and saw that it has incredible reviews! It is a multi-generational story, which is something I have recently rediscovered my love for.

A Thousand Ships is one of my favourite Greek Myth retellings and I have been meaning to read more from Natalie Hytnes! I was so excited to see that Pandora’s Jar was finally out here in Canada.
