WWW Wednesday (April 6th, 2022)

WWW Wednesday is hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words! All you have to do is answers the following three questions:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Currently Reading

I am about halfway through The Daughter of the Moon Goddess and I am having a great time with it. The writing is accessible and descriptive. I can perfectly visualize everything that is happening! It is taking me a bit longer than I expected to finish this, but it is worth it. I am so intrigued to see where this is going!

Just Finished

You Made a Fool of Death With Your Beauty is going to be divisive and that is part of why I loved it as much as I did. My feelings about the romance are complicated and I am still working them out. I don’t want to say too much more because it is an easy book to spoil! I will say that the descriptions of grief are some of the best I have ever read and that the characters felt extremely authentic. There are also some memorable side characters and delicious food descriptions!

With tomorrow being Opening Day, I thought it would be fun to read a baseball romance! I found The Dugout on Kindle Unlimited and decided to go for it. This is the second book in the series, with each of the books following a different baseball player on this team. This one follows Carson who is dealing with coming back from an injury and Milly who has a passion for baseball and knows how to fix Carson’s swing. There was a perfect amount of baseball in here and the chemistry was on point. That said, the “not like other girls” energy was strong!

Starting Next

Simon and Schuster Canada sent me an ARC of Love Radio, which comes out on May 31st. I was tempted to stop everything and read this right away! One of the main characters is the host of a radio show where he gives out advice about listeners’ love lives, which sounds like so much fun.

      1. Ya, I have to admit I am wondering where it’s going. The carrots seem sort of random… as does the prologue, though I am only just over half way done.

  1. Enjoy your reading! I really want to read Daughter of the Moon Godess as well!
I´m about to choose my next book to read!

  2. I can’t wait to read Daughter of the Moon Goddess. So glad you’re enjoying it. The Dugout was a lot of fun. LOL to your “not like other girls” comment.

  3. I loved The Dugout! It was my first book by Quinn and I definitely agree about the not like other girls energy, but the combination of hilarious moments + emotional vulnerability + a bit of angst absolutely worked for me! I’m also very excited about this Emezi book. I’ve only read one book by her so far but I agree with your comment about how she describes grief—so raw and poignant. Hope you continue enjoying your reads! 😃
