Currently Reading
I am about halfway through The Tropic of Serpents, the second book in The Memoirs of Lady Trent series. I have mentioned this a few times, but I am co-hosting a read-a-long of the entire series. This second installment is much more political than the first, but I am enjoying that aspect of it. I still love Lady Trent as a character and appreciate some of the new characters we have been introduced to. I will say that I have mixed feelings about the world building, but I am curious to see where her adventures lead.
Just Finished
Descender has quickly become my favourite graphic novel series! I read the first two volumes last year and finally treated myself to the third and fourth volumes. They are so much fun and there are a lot of layers to the story. I think the third volume is my favourite so far- we got a lot of character background. There is just something about SciFi graphic novels that really work for me!
I listened to Granny’s Got a Gun for a cozy mystery book club and this was quite entertaining. Barbara is a retired CIA agent and I love her! This was a quick read and I will definitely continue on with the series whenever I feel myself falling into a reading slump.
I knew that Legends & Lattes was going to be delightful, but it has to be the most heartwarming book I have read in quite some time. Who knew that my heart needed a book following an orc barbarian who no longer wants to kill so she opens a coffee shop in a town full of characters who have no idea what coffee is. So joyous but still enough stakes to make it interesting!
Starting Next
I will finally be reading Blood Scion! I don’t know what I have put this one off, especially since I read the first few chapters and was hooked.
