The Animal Crossing Book Tag

This tag is everything! I was so excited when I found it on the blog Leah’s Books. Animal Crossing on the Gamecube was such a huge part of my childhood. My friends and I would play for hours, which is funny because it is very much a solo game. I remember sharing a save with my brother and getting annoyed when his character would run over all of my flowers and he used to dig holes everywhere. The memories! These days, I love listening to audiobooks while playing New Horizons on the Switch.

The Rules:

I am not someone who reads a lot of classics, but I do find myself picking up one or two a year and I typically enjoy them. The Picture of Dorian Gray has been on my shelves for years and I know that it is so many readers’ favourite classic, so I really should prioritize it. It is rather short as well!

I don’t know why I haven’t read more SciFi horror! Dead Silence was so creepy and I just love the idea of a ghost ship. There is also a lot of surprising character development!

Pride and Prejudice, of course! For me, there is no other answer to this question. It is my comfort book and movie and a story I will always turn to when I need a pick-me-up.

Pachinko is a new favourite and is now my favourite book of the year so far. The character work is a huge reason for that! The story unfolds over a number of decades and we are following one family throughout the generations. It is masterful how Min Jin Lee is able to form a connection between the reader and new characters so quickly. I am in awe!

Nothing against Colleen Hoover, I just do not think her books are for me, yet I cannot escape them! It is amazing that she is getting so much attention, but I just quickly skip over anything about her work because it is not the kind of romance that I enjoy.

Pachinko is definitely a favourite, but I wanted to mix it up! There are so many historical fiction novels that I adore, but Burial Rites has been a favourite for many years. It continues to haunt me! I actually just purchased a stunning edition of Hannah Kent’s newest release, Devotion, and cannot wait to read it.

I tag anyone who loves Animal Crossing!
