The Valentine’s Day Book Tag

I tend to do a Valentine’s Day book tag every single year, and I found this one on the blog Books Real When Shared. I am going to answer these questions with romances when I can. I hope you all have a wonderful day tomorrow- I will be spending it watching a cheesy RomCom and eating cupcakes.

A Stand-Alone Book You Love.

Finding a romance for this question was surprisingly difficult! So many of the romances that I read are part of a series. As of right now, A Certain Appeal is a stand-alone and I believe that it will stay that way. This is one of the best Pride and Prejudice retellings that I have ever read. I love the modern take on one of my favourite stories and it was so fun to see these beloved characters in a new way. It also gave me a new appreciation for burlesque.

A Dystopian Book You Love.

I have read quite a few dystopian romances, but none in recent years! Of all of the ones that I have read, Under the Never Sky is the one that has stayed with me the most. I remember thinking it was so unique and I adored the romance. I would be so curious to see how this book holds up today! If you have read it more recently, I would love to know what you thought and if it is worth rereading.

A Book That You Love But No One Else Talks About.

I just read Rosaline Palmer Takes the Cake and I cannot believe that more people don’t talk about this book! Alexis Hall is a widely popular author, and Boyfriend Material received a lot of hype, but this one has flown under the radar. I absolutely loved that it was set on a cooking show much like Great British Bake Off!

Favourite Book Couple.

Alexis and Daniel are my new favourite bookish couple, but Part of Your World does come out until April. I am so excited for everyone else to fall in love with these two as well!

A Book That Other People Love But You Haven’t Read Yet.

The Love Hypothesis has been absolutely everywhere, but I have started to see some mixed reviews lately. I think it is one that I will try once the hype has died down. I do want to go into it with unrealistic expectations!

A Book With Red on the Cover.

I have read surprisingly few romances with red book covers! The Wedding Date was the one that instantly came to mine. I love this entire series from Jasmine Guillory. They are comfort reads for me!

A Book With Pink on the Cover.

I just read an eARC of Fake It Till You Bake It and I cannot wait to get my hands on a physical copy when it comes out in June. Not only was the story itself adorable, but the cover is also everything! I love that shade of pink and the illustrations capture the characters perfectly.

You Were Given a Box of Chocolates. What fictional character gave them to you?

You know I had to!

You Are Single on Valentine’s Day. What Book Do You Read? What TV Show Do You Watch? What Movie Do You Watch?

Love & Other Disasters is the romance that I plan to read on Valentine’s Day! I feel like I have spoken about this book a lot lately, but I am always drawn to romances that take place on the set of a cooking show.

I don’t know what it is about Love is Blind, but I was obsessed with the first season. The second season was just released on Netflix, just in time for Valentine’s Day!

Pride and Prejudice (2005) is my go-to movie on Valentine’s Day! I will then watch a cheesy RomCom or Hallmark movie, just something random.

You Are at the Bookstore and You Are Hit With Cupid’s Arrow. What New Release Do You Fall in Love With?

How about all of the books on my list of my most anticipated romances for 2022!? Of all of the books on that list, Hook, Line, and Sinker is the one I am more excited about and will be devastated if it does not live up to the first book, It Happened One Summer.
