Stacking the Shelves (#3)

Stacking The Shelves (hosted by Reading Reality) is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. Don’t forget audiobooks!

I was approved for the ALCs of both Not the Witch You Wed and The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea, and I was so excited when I received that email! I have started Not the Witch You Wed and I am already loving it. There is something about the humour that just works for me. The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea is one of my most anticipated books of the year!

I received three physical books from publishers this week, all of which I am eager to read. Moon Witch, Spider King is the sequel to Black Leopard, Red Wolf. Penguin Canada was kind enough the send me a finished hardcover copy of Moon Witch, Spider King along with a paperback of the first book. I have had my eye on this series since the first book came out, though it is so outside of my comfort zone. I have plans to film a reading vlog for this series!

Doubleday Canada sent me a copy of The School of Mirrors, which is a book that wasn’t on my radar but I am now intrigued by. I don’t think I have ever read a book set in Versailles and I am always open to reading unique historical fiction.

St. Martin’s Press has sent me some incredible nonfiction lately, so I was thrilled to find The King’s Shadow on my doorstep. The subtitle alone sold me on this one. I am excited to learn more about the lost city of Alexandria!

I have joined a fun book club where every month we read one pirate novel and one fae novel and then vote on which one was best. It is the battle between pirates and fae! If you want to learn more, check out this video. This month, we are reading The Falconer and Crossbones, and I managed to find copies of both for a reasonable price. Neither of these books was on my radar, which I kind of love!

  1. Ooh that bookclub sounds fantastic. I actually brought secondhand copies of The Falconer series the other year but somehow haven’t read them yet. I only know a handful of pirate books though. And I seriously cannot wait for Girl Who Fell Beneath The Sea. Here’s hoping it lives up to both of our expectations.
