WWW Wednesday (February 2nd, 2022)

WWW Wednesday is hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words! All you have to do is answers the following three questions:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Currently Reading

I am co-hosting a buddy read of the entire The Memoirs of Lady Trent series, starting with A Natural History of Dragons. I am so excited to finally dive into this series after having owned the first book for years. If you are interested in joining us, here is a link to the Discord.

Just Finished

The Maid has been everywhere lately and I gave in to the hype! It started off so strong and I fell in love with Molly, but I did struggle with it a little bit in the second half. I also found there were some cliches and it is a book you cannot take too seriously. Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoyed it and am thrilled that Florence Pugh is set to star in the movie adaptation.

Starting Next

I was so excited to see that one of the ALCs from Libro.fm this month was A Brush With Love. I have plans to read a lot of romance this month and I think this is a fun one to start with! I didn’t think I would be interested in a romance between dental students, but here we are!

  2. I have seen The Maid everywhere too. I love Florence Pugh. I did not know they were making it into film! I have seen some mixed reviews lately but I might still pick it up!

    My WWW!

      1. She really is!! Idk if you watch any of the Marvel things but she’s amazing in Hawkeye that just came out in December!

      2. Hawkeye was so good! I agree, they were all great but she stole it. I might just be a little bit in love with her. haha. I think she just oozes so much confidence and it might have something to do with it.

      3. Same!!! I’ve always really disliked Amy but Pugh really showed a different side of things. I was shocked I didn’t hate her! Haha. She’s magic

  3. Oh, I didn’t know Pugh is going to be in The Maid! I can see that working. I’m halfway through and enjoying it, but agree it’s flawed.

  4. I was presently surprised to see A Brush With Love as an ALC – honestly I didn’t plan to pick it up, but I’m going to give it try now, it sounds different and cute!

  5. I’ve been seeing The Maid everywhere too but haven’t really felt the pull to read it despite the hype. However, I’m super keen to check out A Brush With Love. It looks and sounds soo good 😍 I hope you enjoy it! Happy reading!
