Books I Added To My TBR | “Best Books of 2021” Lists

I look forward to everyone’s “Best Books of the Year” lists every single year! They always do a number to my TBR, so I thought I would spread the wealth and show you some of the books that I added to my list because I saw them on fellow blogger’s favourites lists for 2021.

Vee @vee_bookish had None Shall Sleep on their list, and I knew from seeing the cover that it was something I needed to look more into! It is a YA crime thriller set in the 80s- enough said! Vee also said it was perfect for Hannibals fans. They also had The Darkness Outside Us on their list, so you know they have taste!

Joanna @ The Geekish Brunette included A River Enchanted on her list, and I knew I wanted to check it out because so many of her other favourites are ones I also have on my TBR. There are so many five star reviews for this book and I love the idea of a Scottish fantasy!

How cool is the cover for Crownchasers!? I discovered it on M.T. Wilson’s blog The Last Book on the Left. I want to read more YA SciFi and the sequel is already out, so hopefully I enjoy the first one and can continue on with it!

Naty from Naty’s Bookshelf and I have similar reading tastes, so I actually added a few of her favourites to my TBR, but it was His Bloody Project that stood out to me! I love literary thrillers and this one sounds unique.

Stephen @ Stephen Writes and I share a love for Gothic fiction, so I always trust his recommendations. The Lost Ones was new to me, and I just love the tagline- Some Houses are Never at Peace.

The blogger Lady in Read Writes had an interesting mix of favourites, many of which I had never heard of, but it was The Phone Booth at the Edge of the World that caught my eye. They describe it as elegantly beautiful!

Rachel @ The Perspicacious Reader had a few of my personal favourites on her list and I had been curious about The Hollow Places, so when I saw it was one of her favourites that sealed the deal for me! I have really been getting into horror, and this sounds like a good one!

Susan @ Bloggin’ ’bout Books put The Nature of Fragile Things on my radar. I have been wanting to read more unique historical fiction and this one is set in 1906 during the San Fransisco earthquake.

Lucy @ First Line Reader had Piranesi on her list, which was my favourite book of the year, so I was immediately curious about all of the others books she said were her favourites. The Betrayals caught my eye and I love that she said there are morally grey characters!

Lisa @ Bookshelf Fanatsies had The Apocalypse Seven on her list of favourites and the cover and title caught my attention. I don’t read nearly enough apocalyptic SciFi but I enjoy it when I do!

  1. I’m very glad The Betrayals caught your attention because I need more people to read that book! I actually liked it for a lot of the same reasons I liked Piranesi, so I hope it works for you too 😊

  2. I have an arc of A River Enchanted and I’m hoping to get to it ASAP before it releases Feb 2nd, part of me held off on reading it in December because I have a feeling it might make my best of 2022 list LOL.

And I loved Crownchasers, I think you’ll enjoy it a lot!

  3. Oh wow! What a great list of books to read. I love that you highlighted bloggers who have suggested books to you.

  4. I’m excited to see A River Enchanted here and hear that it’s already popular as its one of the books I couldn’t resist preordering. I can’t believe The Betrayals is still on my tbr tbh as I loved the Authors debut.
I hope you get a chance to read all of these soon.
