Blogmas (Day Sixteen) | Festive Christmas Book Tag

The Festive Christmas Book Tag was originally created by GirlReading and it is one I haven’t done since 2017! I have been slacking on my holiday tags this year, so this is me changing that!

A fictional family you would like to spend Christmas dinner with?

The family in 10 Blind Dates is what makes it so memorable to me and why I find myself recommending it every holiday season! My dad is a second-generation Canadian- his parents and older brother came to Canada from Italy. So, I relate to the Italian meals and traditions that are mentioned throughout the book. Both of my grandparents have passed away, so 10 Blind Dates reminds me of a different time, which I so appreciated.

A bookish item you would like to receive as a gift?

There are a few bookish Etsy shops that I adore and would be thrilled to receive anything from them. I am going to link them here in case you want to check them out. They make anything from book sleeves to bookmarks to bookish candles.

HappyGoLovelySleeves – book sleeves and book corners

RusticPagesCo– bookmarks and prints

SugarmintsArtstore– bookmarks, notebooks, pins

BooksandBards– candles, t-shirts, mugs, etc.

CharmedLibrary– jewellery, mini books, bookmarks

FangirlPixie– jewellery, bookmarks, stickers

A fictional character you think would make a perfect Christmas elf?

Aiden instantly came to my mind for this question! He is the embodiment of everything Christmasy and he is such a giver. Truly the perfect Christmas elf!

Match a book to its perfect Christmas song.

This is such a cop-out, but I think that Faking Under the Mistletoe and All I Want For Christmas is You make for the perfect pairing. Faking Under the Mistletoe is a holiday romance, one of my favourites, and it is just so Christmasy and charming! It gave me all the feels that I get when I listen to All I Want For Christmas!

Bah Humbug. A book or fictional character youā€™ve been disappointed in and should be put on the naughty list?

Just no. There was nothing about this book that I enjoyed. I would have DNFed it, but it was fast-paced. The ending was terrible and for a book titled “The Maidens”, the maidens themselves were barely in the story.

A book or a fictional character you think deserves more love and appreciation and deserve to be put on the nice list?

Fireborne is the start of a YA fantasy series and has been out for a few years, and it is severely underrated! It is my favourite book about dragons and I thought the politics of the world were fascinating. I cannot wait to continue on with the series!

Red, Gold and Green. A book cover that has a wonderfully Christmasy feel to it.

A book or series you love so much, you want everyone to find under their Christmas tree this year so they can read it and love it too?

How annoying am I!? I will never pass up on an opportunity to recommend the Raybearer duology. I truly believe that there is something for everyone in these books.

  1. What a fun tag. I’ll be sure to stay away from The Maidens! LOL, you’re not the only one who did not like that one.
