Currently Reading
I have not been reading much the last few days as I just have not had the time, but from what I have read of The Jasmine Throne I know I am going to love it. I was immediately drawn into Tasha Suri’s writing style and I cannot wait until I can finally take the time to sink into the story itself.
I am listening to My Contrary Mary on audio for a buddy read on Instagram and I am having so much fun with it. I have only read the first book in the Lady Janies series but I had so much fun with that one and I am definitely getting the same feeling from the first book in Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, and Jodi Meadow’s new series that follows famous Marys! I have always been fascinated by Mary Queen of Scots (Did anyone else love Reign!?), so I am excited to see what the authors do with her story.
Recently Finished
Claire Fuller is one of my favourite authors! I have yet to be disappointed by any of her work. While I think Bitter Orange will always be my favourite of hers, I think Unsettled Ground is a close second. I appreciated that we are following older protagonists and I am always drawn to stories about siblings. This was definitely a difficult read in terms of subject matter, but Claire Fuller is brilliant at what she does! I would be thrilled if this won The Women’s Prize.
Reading Next
Falling is one of my most anticipated July releases, so I was thrilled to be sent an ALC from Libro.fm. It is not often that I am this excited for a thriller, but the premise of a pilot having to choose between saving his family or a flight full of people is so intense and I can’t wait to see how it all plays out. I have been hearing good things!
I am not sure what book I will read next physically, because I think The Jasmine Throne will take me awhile, but I am thinking either Ace of Spades or Accidentally Engaged!
