My Whatever-You-Want-Athon TBR

The Whatever-You-Want-Athon is a month long readathon hosted by Maddie at Book Browsing and I thought it would be fun to participate! There is a going on in this readathon, so I will link you to Maddie’s video for all the information you need.

I joined team comrades of chaos and there are a few prompts that help you win points for you team. You get bonus points if the book fits into your teams genres and/or if the book is LGBTQ+.

So, as you probably know, I am terrible at TBRs, but there is so much going on in this readathon that I thought it would help me to stay organized if I put together a list of books that would help me to complete most of the prompts. I believe I committed to reading twelve books, so some of the books I choose will work for multiple prompts!

Cover Reminds You of a Pride Flag/Team Colour

Pumpkin (Dumplin', #3) by Julie Murphy

Pumpkin is my most recent book purchase and it was my first read of June. I loved both Dumplin‘ and Puddin by Julie Murphy and Pumpkin ended up being my favourite in the series. It is perfect for the “reminds you of a pride flag” prompt because it has a rainbow not only on the cover but also on the spine! Our team colour is pink, so this couldn’t be more perfect! It also has LGBTQ+ rep.

Reread a Comfort Book

Book Cover

I am not a huge rereader, but Sleeping Giants has been calling out to me from my shelves for months now. I always say that it is my favourite fantasy series and I want to experience it again knowing how the story ends! I love that it is told through mixed media, and I believe that Sci-Fi counts as extra points for team comrades of chaos!

Five Star Prediction

Book Cover

I have absolutely loved Taylor Jenkin Reid’s last two novels, and I have a feeling Malibu Rising will be no different. The reviews have been amazing and it looks like the perfect summer read. I will be surprised if I don’t end up giving it five stars! It is also historical fiction and fits perfectly for bonus points for my team! Plus pink lettering!

Author’s Debut

Book Cover

I have been wanting to read Winter’s Orbit ever since it came out in February, and it is both Sci-Fi and LGBTQ+, so yay for bonus points! It is also blurbed by Martha Wells, who I adore. I am so excited to dive into Everina Maxwell’s debut! Also, more pink!

Self-Published/Hauled in the Last Year

Book Cover

Sweethand is independently published and I just received an ALC from Libro.fm, and it is the book I plan to read next! It looks like the perfect June read and I am in love with the cover.

Buddy Read

Book Cover

I participate in a buddy read on Bookstagram every single month, and The Ones We’re Meant to Find is the June book, which I am thrilled about. It is a mix of Sci-Fi and mystery, and is the perfect fit for team comrades of chaos.

Poll

This is where all come in! Help me choose which of these books I should read!

I would also say all of these are out of my comfort zone, as they are not the kinds of fantasy I am typically drawn to, so they work for that prompt as well!

I am pretty happy with this list and that it gives me room to mood read! Let me know if you are participating in the readathon and what team you are on!
