I Started a Booktube Channel

I have been watching Booktube for years but never thought it would be something I would try! I am an introvert, hate public speaking, and have never spoken to a camera. It is definitely awkward, and I think you can see that in my first two videos, but I thought I would just go for it. I wanted to try something new and it seemed like the next natural step!

I have no intentions on leaving this blog- it will always been my number one creative outlet, but it has been refreshing to be creative in a new way! I will link to my YouTube channel at the bottom of my posts, but I don’t want my blog to simply became a way to advertise my channel, so I will be cognizant of that!

Also, I want to put together a post where I share bloggers who also have Booktube channels, so if that is you please let me know in the comments! I would love to share your blog and your channel and to watch your videos!

Anyways here is a link to my channel…

I recorded a video sharing all the books on my TBR cart, so I will be editing that and posting it soon! Don’t worry, I am also writing a blog post about it and will be taking pictures.

Thank you for your continued support. I appreciate you all so much!

  1. Congrats on starting your channel! Wil watch your video later, when I’m at a location where I can watch haha!

  2. That’s really great. I don’t watch booktube that much. I used to but these days book blog and social media takes so much of time along with family life that I only watch booktube once a week. I like that subtitle thing in your video. I don’t see that on other few booktubes I watched before. I will start watching booktubes more now and specially yours.

      1. They really are! Some of them are great but the language on others is atrocious! My son knows most swear words (thanks to school!) but I tell him he cant watch stuff with them in!

  3. I enjoyed them 🙂 Honestly if I had just stumbled over your channel (and obviously the content of the first) I wouldn’t have pegged you for newbie! Good luck with it!

  4. Oh cool! I’ll check out your video and follow along.
I’ve considered starting a booktube channel in the past, but it certainly seems intimidating so great on you jumping in and doing it!

  5. That’s so awesome! Good for you 🙂 I have a (non book related) Youtube channel I made to give myself an excuse to try to teach myself video editing and to get over my shyness too. Talking to a camera feels so awkward though! I can’t wait to go check out your videos!

  6. Oh, my gosh, I can’t even look at you cause your hair is SO thick and gorgeous!!!! 🙁
Also, you’re really NOT that awkward on camera! I love that your starting a Booktube channel! Very exciting!

  7. Congrats! Just watched your video and it was great. Very personal, informative, and you looked comfortable ( although you ,Ishtar not have been). Looking forward to future videos.

  8. That was really awesome! What is booktube? I got kind of lost around the question what kind of books you read? That’s only because I’m not a native English speaker. Everything else was crystal clear!

      1. Thank you for the prompt response! Could you recomend a book please? I’d like to complete the 1 per month challenge this year. Always some kind of excuse keeps me from doing it right.
