Books I Would Love for Santa to Bring

This week’s TTT is always a fun one! I love seeing what books everyone else is hoping to find under the tree. I do not usually receive a ton of books for Christmas, but gift cards to bookstores is a popular gift for me, and I love it! So this is a list of books I would be so grateful to find under the tree or I will most likely purchase with gift cards or as gifts to my myself.

I love when classic novels are adapted into graphic novels. The Great Gatsby is one of my favourites, so I am very curious to see how it works in this format.

I have talked a lot about how much I want to read A Discovery of Witches in 2021, and I would love to get my hands on the box set so I can binge read the series.

I read and loved The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle earlier this year, and I need to read more from Stuart Turton! The Devil and the Dark Water is set on a ship, which is one of my favourite settings.

Monday’s Not Coming is the last of Tiffany D. Jackson’s books that I have to read. I have the audiobook, but I own her other three books and it is one of the few cases where I want all of an author’s books on my shelves.

I don’t think I need to explain why I would love to find The House in the Cerulean Sea under the tree! It seems to be the book of 2020!

Fable is not my usual genre or something I would normally be drawn to, but something about it is calling my name. I am curious about her other series as well, so I would love to get a taste for her writing style.

I have been in the mood for food memoirs lately, and The Cooking Gene has been on my radar for awhile now. Sounds amazing!

I have become obsessed with all things Greek mythology, so it is a sin that I haven’t read anything by Stephen Fry yet. I want to slowly collect all his gorgeous editions, starting with Mythos, and I know he has a new one coming out next year.

The Library at Mount Char is one I have been talking about a lot lately. I find myself in the mood for a weird book!

As someone with a pet Calico who I adore, I need The Cat and the City in my life! Look at that cover! It is also giving me major The Travelling Cat Chronicles vibes, which is one of my favourite books.

What is one book on your wishlist?

  1. Oooh!
Glad to know I’m not the only bookworm who feels like certain books should be with me in paper rather than the e-version. 😂
I literally haven’t been reading the whole of Divergent series because of this. It’s tempting as anything, but I want them in physical copies 😀

  2. I feel like books make for the best Christmas gift so this post is quite topical haha. I read A Discovery of Witches a year or two ago and it was so much fun so I definitely think you’d love it! Also YES The House in the Cerulean Sea is just incredible!! The Library at Mount Char is another one that I’ve seen so many positive reviews about but just haven’t gotten around to reading myself. I hope you’ll get to read some of these books soon! ❤

  3. So many great choices! The House in the Cerulean Sea was such a favorite of mine this year. And I love Mythos! I’d recommend listening to the audiobook (maybe with the physical book on the side) — Stephen Fry is so amazing as a narrator. I hope you get some great bookish gifts!
    My TTT

  4. I wish I would just finish reading The Great Gatsby already. Picked it up twice now.

A Discovery of Witches, rather the All Souls trilogy is my all-time favourite books! You’re in for a ride…
