Caffeine and Books tagged me to do the Halloween Creatures 2.0 tag, and I thought it was the perfect tag to end spooky season!
A Magical Character or Book.
Everything about this book is magical, from the characters to the setting! I fell in love with the magic system, and Raybearer quickly became one of my favourite books of all time, and arguably my favourite fantasy. I cannot stop raving about this one!
The Perfect Book to Read at Night.
While Home Before Dark is not my favourite thriller, I do think it a perfect book to read at night if you are looking for something spooky. The book is set in a haunted house, so it will have you looking over your shoulder. There is a story within the story, and it is those sections that kept me up at night!
A Book that Truly Shocked You.
If I told you what surprised me about In Five Years it would spoil it for you, and I really think that it is best to go into this book knowing very little. All I will say is have a box of tissues with you!
A Dark, Evil Character.
There are numerous evil characters within the pages of When No One is Watching, and what is truly haunting is that they aren’t evil witches or demons, they are just average human beings. The fact that this book is not so farfetched is what makes it so chilling.
A Book that Made You “Hungry” for More.
The Pull of the Stars is one of my favourite books of the year, and it is just over 300 pages! Although I think it is near perfect as it is, I found myself wanting more. The story unfolds over the course of three days, and I could have read about at least seven day!
A Character that You Would Protect at All Cost.
Dani Brown does not need my protection, but I absolutely adore her. I would also protect Zaf at all cost- he is such a cinnamon roll in his own way!
A Book that Sucked the Life Out of You.
I wanted to love this book but I struggled to get through it. I think I would have DNFed it if I weren’t reading it for a buddy read. There was so much potentional but I felt it dragged, and it put me in a bit of a reading slump!
A Book that Really Scared You.
There is no creepier book than You by Caroline Kepnes, especially since it is told in the second person. If you want to add to the spooky factor, listen to the audiobook. I haven’t read the sequel, but I know another book in the series comes out next years so I need to get on it!
A Character You Have a Bone to Pick With.
I won’t say why I have a bone to pick with the main character in In a Holidaze, as it would be a major spoiler. I am also not sure if other readers would agree with me. I need to read more reviews!
A Book You Would Preserve Throughout Time.
The Midnight Library is such a beautiful book. It is one that I would recommend to everybody and I plan on gifting to numerous people this Christmas. I think that a lot of people will gain a new perspective after reading this story. It does the heart good and I want that feeling perserved through time!
A Cover too Scary to Look At.
Horrid is the only book on this list that I have yet to read, and I know that there are many covers out there that are scarier than this one, but something about it haunts me.
