While You Had Me at Hola is definitely lighthearted, it also has some depth. I appreciated how authentic the characters felt, as did the issues that came up in their relationship. This was also just an adorable book and I loved the telenovela storyline. Can this just be adapted already!?

Sadie has received so much hype over the years that I was actually reluctant to pick it up because I thought there was no way it could live up to it. How wrong I was! This book was even better than I could have imagined, and also a lot darker. Believe me- Sadie is a book that lives up to the hype.

I had no idea going into In Five Years just how much it focused on friendships. I love books that shine a realistic light on female friendship, and In Five Years certainly does that. I cannot remember the last time I cried so much reading a book or felt so intimately invested in a friendship.

The Switch is just so charming! I love the trope where two characters switch lives because it often leads to many heartwarming moments. It is fun to read about how theses characters adjust to their new surroundings and how they are being pushed out of their comfort zones.

I am using the same answer as last year, because how could I not say Emoni from With the Fire on High. The cooking in this book is almost magical, and it is just a fantastic book all around.

I am always anxious when a favourite author releases a new book, because my hopes are so high and I don’t want to be let down. Thankfully, Anxious People blew my expectations out of the water- it was charming, hilarious, and full of heart.

  1. I’m nervous to read Anxious People (no pun intended). It makes me feel better when I read good reviews for it. I’m glad you enjoyed it!
These all seem like such great answers. I’ll have to try this tag.
