And Asher has a proposition for her: join forces for one last summer of epic pranks, against a shared enemy—the woman who kicked them out.

Their truce should make things simpler, but six years of tormenting one another isn’t so easy to ignore. Kind of like the undeniable attraction growing between them.

Here’s the problem with knowing someone since you were ten and vacationing with them since you were thirteen: they know way too much.

What a fun, summery read! Once again, this is a book I never would have read if it were not for a buddy read on Instagram. I went into this book a little reluctant, as I have never been a huge fan of pranks, and I wasn’t sure that I wanted to read an entire novel that centered around them. I was happy to see that the pranks were such a small part of the story. I also thought that the initial pranks were kind of fun and worked well for a hate-to-love type romance.

I loved that the story is told from both Sidney and Asher’s perspectives. It was interesting to see how they viewed the pranks differently. Sidney is a classic overthinking, and a lot of readers who were part of the buddy read felt a connection to her. I also thought that Asher was a great character and I was drawn to his personality. They had great chemistry, even when they supposedly disliked one another.

Meet Me at Midnight is set at a cottage on a lake, and it was the perfect book to read this time of year. Both Sidney and Asher are competitive swimmers, and I loved reading about that world. As you may know, I appreciate when characters have a passion!

This is a book that you cannot take too seriously, it is pure entertainment! There are certain freedoms that these teenager characters are given that didn’t feel realistic but were needed to propel the story along. I found myself rolling my eyes a few times, but it wasn’t enough to change my feelings about it.
