Books with Colours in the Title

This week’s TTT is interesting– I have never put much thought into books that have colours in the title. It was fun to look back on the books that I have read and notice that quite a few of them fit into this category. I highly recommend all of the books on this list!

Blue Ticket by Sophie Mackintosh

52058372

Blue Ticket is a book that haunts me. Sophie Mackintosh has this way of creating an atmosphere that feels so suffocating.

All Boys Aren’t Blue by George M. Johnson

What makes All Boys Aren’t Blue so special is that it is both a memoir and a manifesto, and it is targeted toward young adults and teenagers. I personally really loved the letters Johnson wrote to the people in their life. So powerful!

Darling Rose Gold by Stephanie Wrobel

Darling Rose Gold is one of the most uncomfortable books I have ever read. Every single character is so unlikable, and you never know who to trust. It made for an intense reading experience!

Raven Black by Ann Cleaves

Shetland, which is based on this book series, is arguably my favourite TV show. I have only read this first book, but I did enjoy it quite a bit. It is an atmospheric mystery, but it is really the characters who I love!

Silver in the Wood by Emily Tesh

43459657

Silver in the Wood is one of my favourite novellas, and I believe the sequel comes out this month. I cannot wait to read it!

Bitter Orange by Claire Fuller

38589871

Bitter Orange was my favourite book of last year. I just adore Fuller’s writing style. This book made me uncomfortable in the best way.

Red Rising by Pierce Brown

15839976

I’ve only read the first book in this series, which is ridiculous considering how much I truly enjoyed Red Rising. So many people have told me it only gets better!

Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery

How could I not include Anne of Green Gables?! It’s an obvious pick!

White Oleander by Janet Finch

It has been years since I have read White Oleander, but it feels like yesterday. I think it is the most gut-wrenching novel I have ever read.

All Systems Red by Martha Wells

All Systems Red is the first book in the Murderbot series, which I just talked about on the blog recently saying that I needed to continue on with it. I have only read the first two books, but it’s such a fun and surprisingly charming series!

From looking at my shelves it seems as though “red” and “blue” are the most common colours to appear in books titles!

What are books you have read that have a colour in the title?

  1. Some amazing covers on your list, and there are a few here that I’ve read and loved. I just treated myself to that exact version of Anne of Green Gables. The cover is beautiful!

  2. I’ve heard Red Rising is soooo good. I’ve only heard of it recently, but all the reviews of it have been raving!! (Also, that Anne of Green Gables cover is GORGEOUS)
