PROCRASTINATION Book Tag

You know what is ironic!? I have procrastinated on doing this tag since I saw the original tag on Sometimes Leelynn Reads! I love creative tags like this one and I think many of us can relate to having outside influences distracting us from reading. I am not going to do every question because there are a lot of them, but check out the original tag for all of the questions!

The Rules …

  1. Thank the person who nominated you.
  2. Give credit to the original creator of the tag (Kate @ Cover to Cover Book Blog).
  3. Link back to the original post.
  4. Nominate other bloggers whose procrastination preferences you’d like to know!
  5. You DO NOT have to wait for a nomination to do this tag! Nominations are optional.

I know that the question asks about epistolary romances, but I could not pass up on the opportunity to talk about 84, Charing Cross Road, which is a book I should talk about more often. I love that this book is nonfiction and it includes letters written between a UK bookseller and a customer/the author who lives in the US. They have great banter and Helene Hanff’s personality really shines through her letters. I think that any one who has a passion for books will adore 84, Charing Cross Road.

I know that some people do not enjoy reading about famous characters, but I love it. The Happy Ever After Playlist is my most recent favourite. I love a good romance where one characters is famous and the other is not. It always makes for an interesting dynamic. This book has become one of my favourite romances ever, and I know I keep saying it, but it is so refreshing to see how respectful Jason is of Sloan’s boundaries.

I do not tweet very often, but I do try to retweet when I see something worth sharing!

I have been loving taking pictures for Bookstagram lately. I have always preferred writing to taking photos, but it has been fun to explore a different side of my creativity. I will never be someone with intricate flatlays (I am in awe of people who can do them!), but it is still fun to play around with different backgrounds and post ideas.

My friend, who is not a huge reader, wanted to buddy read a book together and we saw The One for a good price, so we decided to give it a chance. I had seen a few people talking about it, but it wasn’t a book I was particularly interested in. That is why I was so surprised by just how into this book I ended up being. The One is the definition of a page turner! Every chapter seemed to end in a twist, which compelled me to keep reading. It was a great book to read with a friend!

All three of these books are fantastic and I finished them in a day, which is not something that I do often.

Look out for my Saturday post! I plan on posting a list of my favourite blog posts of the week and I am considering turning it into a series.

I love books with multiple POV’s, but these are the first three that came to mind! They are all very different, but I highly recommend them.

Do I even have to explain this one?

I find myself drawn to books about friendship. Each of these books looks at a different aspect of friendship, and each of them is fantastic in its own way!

  1. So many books in this tag I want to read! I NEED Cemetery Boys! I could have sworn it was coming out this summer but stupid COVID-19 pushed it back to September. I own Lovely War and I plan to read it, hopefully, before the end of the year.

  2. There There sounds *so* brilliant. I’ve got it on my tbr, but I’m always really procrastinatey when it comes to literary fiction. Appropriate, considering the post theme, lol

  3. I panicked a little on the first question, because I saw “epistolary romance” and I have no clue what that word means, so I needed some time to reflect on whether quarantine is turning my brain to mush. That aside, your bookstagram is such a vibe! Makes me want to go outdoors right now. You have such great photos!

  4. Oooh I started reading The One but got distracted by something and put it aside and forgot about it! I need to go pick it back up again and finish it now!

  5. omg your bookstagram photos are so gorgeous!! i love the colors so much 🥺💕 and i’m really happy to hear that boyfriend material and cemetery boys sucked you in! they both look great and i can’t wait to read them <3
