March Non-Bookish Favourites

I know that March has been a difficult month for all of us, but I still managed to find some favourites that I would love to share with you in the hopes that it brings you some joy or a way to distract yourself if even more a minute.

Dunkirk

Dunkirk (2017) - IMDb

I have seen Dunkirk many times and I am sure I have talked about it on the blog before, but I rewatched it in March and I remembered why I love it so much. It is a difficult movie to watch but there are also touching moments. I knew nothing about Dunkirk before watching the movie and I would love to read more about it. Anyone have any nonfiction book recommendations?

Parasite

I finally watched Parasite and I completely understand it has been getting so much attention and won the Oscar for Best Picture. It is unlike any other movie I have ever watched and I was gripped by it. It was entertaining, humorous, and had a lot of interesting things to say about the class system.

The English Game

I was not expecting to become so deeply invested in this show, but I ended up watching the entire thing over one weekend. I’m crossing my fingers that there is going to be a second seasons because this is my new favourite show! It is so endearing and the character growth is incredible. I truly loved everything about it.

Making the Cut

Making the Cut (TV Series 2020– ) - IMDb

As a longtime Project Runway fan, I am thrilled to see Heidi and Tim back together again! Making the Cut is much like Project Runway only with a bigger budget. Only the first two episodes have been posted so far, but I have very much enjoyed them!

If I am being honest with you, Harry Styles has once again been the main thing I have been listening too, but I think you are probably getting sick of me sharing his music! So instead, here are a few other boy band related videos for your enjoyment:

Still by Niall Horan

Niall’s album Heartbreak Weather was released in March and still is my favourite song on the album. The entire thing is worth listening to though!

Backstreet Boys @ iheartradio Living Room Concert for America

This video just brought me so much nostalgia! I was such a Brian fangirl growing up!

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

This game could not have come out at a better time! I used to play the original Animal Crossing on GameCube and being able to play again has brought me so much joy. There is no other game that is this relaxing! Such a great distraction!

Have you watched, listened to, or tried any of my favourites? What was your favourite non-bookish thing this month?

  1. I love Niall’s new album and Still is my favourite song too! I’m seriously wondering who dared break his heart, songs were all so sweet! haha!

  2. I really want to watch Making the Cut. I think I may way until there’s a lot more episodes though. I loved the video of the Backstreet Boys doing the living room concert. It was so fun to watch. I am playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons as well! It’s been a light for me in this crazy time we are now living in. We should be friends!

  3. I just watched Making the Cut – it was fun! I love how Naomi hates pretty much everything. I’ve watched that Backstreet Boys video a couple times now – I was always a Kevin fan!

  4. I watched Parasite in March too! My book club decided it would be fun to watch it in addition to our book for our April meet up. It looks like that meet up will be on Zoom now. It is a strange new world!

    Have a great April!

  5. The first time I watched Dunkirk I didn’t like it but I’ve watched it several times since and definitely enjoy it the more I watch! Unfortunately, I didn’t really like Parasite. I recently discovered The English Game and definitely want to give that a try. AND YES Animal Crossing could not have come out at a better time! Such a good escape.
