Ten Characters I’d Follow On Instagram

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic character’s I’d follow on social media.

I love this week’s topic! There are so many characters who I think would have incredible Instagram accounts, so that is the social media platform I chose to focus on.

Daisy Jones (Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid)

This is so obvious, but if Daisy Jones were a real person she would have millions and millions of followers on Instagram. I think people would be so intrigued by her and her character has this aura about her that draws people in. Her Instagram would be a bit edgy with a lot of behind the scenes photos. Could you imagine what her Instagram stories would be like?

Vivian (City of Girls by Elizabeth Gilbert)

I would love to be able to follow Vivian’s Instagram through all of the phases of her. From when she was young and making some questionable decisions and hanging out with showgirls to when she is older making wedding dresses and living her truth. Not only would her page be compelling, but I also think it would be inspiring. She is unapologetic about what she needs and who she is. Through all of her ups and downs, I think she’d be a great role model.

Lara Jean (To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han)

Lara Jean’s Instagram would be very aesthetically pleasing. There would also be a lot of pictures of her baking, of Peter, and of her family. What more could you ask for?

Chloe Brown (Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibber)

Chloe Brown is already a computer-whiz so I think she would have a killer Instagram. I also think she would be an amazing advocate for those living with a chronic illness. And let’s be honest, I would just want to see pictures of her and Red together. I am sure she would share some of Red’s art every once in awhile as well.

Nina (The Bookish Life of Nina Hill by Abbi Waxman)

Nina Hill is the one character on this list that I am most likely to follow because you just know she would have a killer bookish Instagram. I am interested to see more about her life as well, but her book recommendations are what I would truly be there for. I never get tired of finding new Bookstagram accounts to follow.

Dan (Ellie and the Harpmaker by Hazel Prior)

If you have read Ellie and the Harpmaker, you will know that the chances of Dan creating an Instagram account on his own are very slim, but I think with a push from Ellie and the other people in his life he could be convinced. My favourite part of this story was reading about Dan’s harps and the process of making them. An Instagram account all about his harps and some of the behind the scenes stuff would be fascinating!

Kiko (Starfish by Akemi Dawn Bowman)

I follow a lot of artist on Instagram and I think that I would definitely follow Kiko. I loved reading about how art inspired her and in many ways saved her. It would be a thrill to see how her art has progressed through the years. I also just think she has an important story that the world would need to here and she could share that through her art.

Annie (Waiting for Tom Hank’s by Kerry Winfrey)

I just think following Annie on Instagram would be a blast. She works on movie sets and is dating a famous actor- all the makings for an interesting Instagram account! I also love all of the other characters she has in her life from her uncle to her best friend, so it would be fun to get glimpses of what they are up to as well.

Emoni (With the Fire on High by Elizabeth Acevedo)

Emoni would definitely have a food Instagram account and you know it would be gorgeous! The way that food was described in With the Fire on High was magical. We would probably also get the odd baby photo, which is adorable and I am here for.

A.J. Fikry (The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin)

I love following bookstore owners on Instagram. It would be a dream come true to own a bookstore, so it is fun to live vicariously through them. I also think that A.J. Fikry would have some unique book recommendations!
