I can always count on Christina Lauren to write a book that is compulsively readable. I devoured this book in two sittings, and if I had had the time I could have finished it in one. I do not know how they always pull that off! These are the kind of books that I turn to when I feel a reading slump coming on.
I have to admit that even though I really enjoyed Twice in a Blue Moon, it wasn’t my favourite of there books. There was something about it that just never clicked like they books have for me in the passed. I honestly think that it would have benefited from 100 more pages. I would have like the relationship between Tate and Sam to be explored more. They have an interesting past that I think needed more time to be fleshed out and they needed some deeper conversations.
I loved the plot of this one. There is something about having a famous main character that appeals to me. It was fun to read about the set and get some behind the scenes on the making of the movie. I have to say that the movie they were making sounded amazing- I would love for Christina Lauren to write a book of that story!
The side characters made this book! I loved Nick, Tate’s costar- he was sweet and understanding. I love the friendship that he and Tate formed. I also adored Charlie, Tate’s best friend and makeup artist- we all need a Charlie in our lives. She was protective of Tate but still encourage her to follow her heart.
Finally, something that really bothered me in that there was no epilogue! I need to know what happened next- was the movie a hit, did Tate tell her father where he could go?! The ending felt so unsatisfying, which I have never experience with a Christina Lauren novel before.
Even though Twice in a Blue was not my favourite of Christina Lauren’s novel, it was still a solid romance and I would recommend it. It is fast-paced and sweet!

Good point about not having an epilogue — I wanted to hear that Tate won an Oscar!! This is a great review. Funny, I’ve seen a few people say that they enjoyed this book but not as much as their others, but for me, this instantly became one of my favorites!
Yes! Like I need to know how well the movie did! I loved the premise of this one so much, I just wish we got more. Maybe a sequel?!
Oh no, I hate unsatisfying endings and I’m so bummed to hear that this book has one! Like you said, I’ve never read a CLo book that has an unsatisfying end, so this surprises me! I’ve heard lots of mixed reviews about this one which makes me hesitate, but I know I love CLo too much to not read it 😅 Great review!
It is one of those situations where it is a good book that I would recommend, but it is not that best CLo book. They have set the bar high!
