I read Anna and the French Kiss when it first came out and it was probably my first YA contemporary romance. I vividly remember speeding through the story and staying up late to finish it- I could not get enough! Years later, I thought I would continue on with the series so I tried to reread Anna and the French Kiss and I could not get through it. YA contemporary romance has come a long way in the last ten years and it is awesome to see!

Harley in the Sky by Akemi Dawn Bowman
Akemi Dawn Bowman’s debut novel, Starfish, is one of my favourite YA novels, so I was thrilled to year that she has a new book coming out in 2020. I was even more excited when I read that the main character joins a travelling circus- one of my favourite settings!

NAME A BOOK THAT YOU FELT COMPLETELY SLAYED WITH FANTASTIC CHARACTERS, PLOT, PACING, ETC.
Recursion by Blake Crouch
Blake Crouch always nails plot and pacing, but what I really thought was special about Recursion was just how much I cared about the characters. When there is so much action and suspense it in a story, it is easy for character development to take a backseat, but Crouch does not allow this to happen. His characters have depth, interesting backstories, and believable motivations.
HOUSE BARATHEON: OURS IS THE FURY
NAME A BOOK THAT ENDED WITH A CLIFFHANGER ENDING THAT GENUINELY PISSED YOU OFF.
City of Bones by Cassandra Claire
If you have read this book than you know why I was so uncomfortable with the cliffhanger ending! I still do not quite understand what the point of that was, but I guess it kind of fits with some things that happen in Game of Thrones!

The Princess Bride by William Goldman
Seriously!! The Princess Bride has been on my TBR since I was a teenager! At this point, who knows if I will ever get to it, but I would love to eventually! It is just so well-loved, what if I hate it?!

Helter Skelter: The True Story of The Manson Murders
Real life can be more disturbing than fiction, and I often find that to be the case when I read true crime. It is often hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that real people committed such vile and horrible acts. Of all of the true crime that I have read, Helter Skelter is the one that has haunted me the most. Charles Manson was completely sadistic and it is scary to think how many people were devoted to him.

Life of Pie by Yann Martel
Who is your favourite character on Game of Thrones? I love so many that I can not decide. I am on season six at the moment, so no spoilers (even though, let’s be honest- I have been spoiled for a lot at this point). 
Great tag! I’ve always been a big Jon Snow fan (cliche, I know!).
He’s one of my favourites too. Just so damn sweet and brooding. I love him more and more as the show goes on!
Ooh this is a great tag! I love Theon and Sansa, they’re probably my favourite characters. My housemates are currently in Dubrovnik where most of the King’s Landing scenes were filmed but neither of them have ever watched the show so it’s completely wasted on them, so frustrating!! Enjoy the rest of the show (if you can, boy it gets dark!)
I just watched the episodes with Theon and Sansa.. they are both great! Even though Theon has done some horrible things, he breaks my heart. Such a great actor!
I can not believe that I survived watching The Red Wedding. That was torture!
Aaaah The Princess Bride is a tough call. In some ways, it’s a hilarious classic. Other parts of it haven’t aged super well…
That is one of my fears!
I feel like a lot of the reason why Princess Bride is so well loved is because of the movie moreso than the book. I adore the movie, but I’ve never really been tempted to read the book. I thought Recursion was fantastic too!
I tried to watch The Princess Bride a couple years ago and I could not get in to it. I thought maybe reading the book first would help. I think there is a nostalgia factor to why so many people love it and I just missed the boat!
I love Tyrion! He’s a genius and knows it, but is able to recognize when he makes mistakes. It’s terrible how people treat him because he’s a dwarf, but he learned how to spite them.
I love him too. I love that he fights with his mind!
I love Game Of Thrones (: and I do want to also read the books sometime but I’m kind of worried about picking them up too 😅 I can absolutely relate to bring afraid to pick up a well loved book in case you don’t enjoy it – I hope you do end up enjoying the book if you do ever get around to reading it though.
Oh & I meant The Princess Bride for the second part of that comment. I just realized it wasn’t all that clear.
I read the first two Game of Thrones books and they are great but take forever to read!
I definitely feel that way about The Princess Bride. I wish I had read the book/watched the movie when I was younger!
Yes I’ve heard the same from another blogger too. So I do plan to read them but also want to pick up a few other books first.
I haven’t read or seen it at all either so you’re not alone at least. But I can relate to that feeling with several books.

Princess Bride is such a good book! It’s been a while since I’ve read it though. But the adaptation is just as great. One of the best book-to-film adaptations.
